Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.
In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.
So I was too busy last week to post a highlights *cries a little* so this week I will be doing a bit of a bigger weekly highlights by highlighting all that happened in the last two weeks! (Or the important stuff anyway!)
I’m planning some things for the blog in the next few months but for it I need YOUR help. To find out what you can do to help click here. (And to all those who have already contacted me, THANK YOU, I will be in touch this week).
I had the lovely Frankie on the blog telling us all about her editor job and her favourite YA reads as part of the #WeLoveYa tour! Check out all about it here. And to see more posts, head on over to the twitter hashtag!

Book Tuber & Book Blogger Meet Up
Yesterday I made my way to London to meet up with some book tubers and book bloggers and I had a really good day! It was the first time that us book tubers had met up and it was nice to finally see people outside of their vlogs and to be able to just chat to people! I have to admit to being totally overwhelmed but I was also in an introverted mood and didn’t do as much talking as I do when I meet up with book bloggers – and I think I was probably more than a little star struck by all the awesome tubers there! – but I still had fun and made some new friends and that is all good!
We started in Hyde Park and then headed to M&S to get food for a picnic, then headed to Daunt Books (which is the most lovely book shop!) and then made our way to Regents Park for the picnic! From there we picked ourselves up and headed to Piccadily where we went to another indie bookshop I had never heard of before and had another wander around. Next up was the familiar Waterstones Piccadiliy (the biggest one in London) and then I met up with Daphne, fresh from her Honeymoon – kind of – and we went to grab a frappochino and have a good old catch up before I headed home! All in all, a great day that I’m glad I went along to!
I actually got too many books in the last two weeks but I don’t plan to highlight them all – mostly because they’re all scattered in different places and I don’t have the energy to put them all in the same place at the moment. So instead I’m just going to quickly highlight the ones I’m super excited about.
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas; I have been WAITING to read this book since I finished the first book in the series. Thank you to Bloomsbury for the ARC copy!
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen; Found this amazing cover in Waterstones Piccadilly and HAD to buy it! I’m trying to read through Sarah Dessen’s collection of books as I just love them all so much!
All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill; This was a review copy from Bloomsbury but it looks absolutely AMAZING and I cannot wait to get stuck into it! Thanks Bloomsbury!
How to Be Invisible by Tom Lott; I got this at the Walker Roadshow I attended last thursday (JUST), and is one I was actually going to request when I recieved the catalogue as I’m super intrigued by it! Looking forward to reading this one! Thank you Walker!
I hope to visit all posts of this manner, so feel free to link to your own IMMs, Sunday Showcase, Sunday Posts, Letterbox Loves or whatever it is you do below!
what did you get this week? what cool blog posts did you stumble upon? what are you waiting to happen this week?
GABY! (Queen Ella Bee Reads)
Every month I choose a new Blogger to spotlight on my blog. This blogger is usually someone who I have come to know through blogging, someone who I admire and whose blog should be getting a lot more traffic! Being a part of this means that the blogger gets their website “stickied” to the top of my blog *points to left-hand corner*, they get an interview and a few other things here and there throughout the month! It’s a way for me to share my love of them to you, and for you to find a new and amazing blog!
Got that? Good.
So, this month’s Blogger Spotlight is Gaby from Queen Ella Bee Reads!
Why is Gaby Chosen?
I met Gaby in January of this year when, after chatting to her a few times on twitter, I invited her along to the Laura Lam signing with me and Daphne. I think it was one of the best decisions I had made in a long while as Gaby is such an amazing and wonderful person. She’s energetic, fun, talkative, and incredibly kind. She’s a great person to get along with and someone who is happy to just put herself in your life and the perfect person that I needed when it felt like I had no friends in my hometown. She has since returned back to the US and I do miss her but having her around was really nice and it was just great getting to know her. I know for sure that Gaby is someone who will be my friend for a while to come.
But, aside from her personality, Gaby is also an incredible blogger. She’s still new to the world but you really wouldn’t think it. Her posts have personality and style that is easily recognisable. She writes her posts like she talks in person and you can just see who she is so easily. She uses GIF images to explain herself and just is really creative, fun, and a charm to read. She’s also a really friendly blogger, always happy to talk to her followers and just make sure that you feel included. I think she is just a really great blogger who runs an exceptional blog, that, if I’m honest, I’m a little jealous of! I wish I had that flare of personality that she does.
To find out what I’m talking about, go follow her now!
The Genre Variety Challenge is in its sixth month! Wahooo! :D
The sign ups will be open throughout the year and can be found by clicking here
This is where you can add your reviews for the month of June! Obviously this challenge isn’t really set out by “months” as such, so simply add all the reviews you do this month to this linky and then again in July, etc.
** As suggested, this linky is now going to stay open throughout the YEAR, I will still have these posts each month but you can add all your reviews here easily without any worry of missing the month. (There is no need to re-add any reviews that are on previous linkys.) **
Remember to keep a track of your own process so you know how well you’ve done!
If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me
