Blogspiration #1 – Writers

Blogspiration is a weekly meme hosted by GrowingUp YA & Saz101. This meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers and writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the authors choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation & just a little SOMETHING.
So, this is my first week participating in this, I don’t often run across things online that really affects me, because, well, trawling the internet isn’t something I always have time for but I’m going to try and get involved in this, if not weekly then at LEAST monthly.
This week I have a quote that I actually saw a while back that I really liked and wanted to share with you guys. It resonates with me quite a bit because it is so true of me. I believe, as well, it can be said of readers as well. -nods-
“The first thing that distinguishes a writer is that he is most alive when alone.”
Martin Amis
When alone, our imaginations are given a chance to come alive and it is there when our most animated souls come to light. I know this is true of me, is it true of other writers out there? Or are you more alive surrounded by people?

  1. oh my goodness. I LOVE this one, and you’re so. SO. right about imagination! Sometimes you need stillness and quiet.

    Sammie, I LOVE this! ♥♥♥

  2. This is a great quote. I know for me, it’s definitely true. When I write I need to be alone just because I need stillness and quiet, and I can think things through better. (Also known as talking to myself without judgement, lol)

  3. WOW!! That’s so great and SOOOOOO TRUE! Not that I don’t appreciate company, It’s just creatively liberating to get away and from everything and just write. I get into a zone! Thanks for sharing :D
