Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

I’ve been umming and ahhing about whether to post this because I feel it is a very unpopular opinion and I might get booed and loose followers and just ugggh. But I also just want to know if I’m the only one feeling this way or if there are others out there feeling the same way.

And this is what I am currently feeling:

I am NOT excited about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Just nope. Not got that feeling of excitement or the butterflies or the I MUST HAVE IT, I MUST HAVE IT NOW feeling at all. In fact, the biggest feeling I have about the book is just.. ummmm.

I WANT to be excited. I WANT to jump up and down and squeal with delight about seeing the play or reading it but I am just not. For me, Harry Potter is over. It was ended and it was done. I liked thinking about where it might have gone after that, I don’t particularly want to be told where it’s going to go next.

So I’m just not excited.

And I’ve borrowed the script from the library, just in case I change my mind but I’ve been staring at it for hours and I just don’t have this urge to pick it up and read it. I’m just not interested.

This thought has been scaring me. I am supposed to be a REALLY BIG FAN but lately I feel like my HP-ness has been slipping away from me. I’m not that bothered about houses, I’m not that bothered about Pottermore or the new american school and houses (I don’t even know what they are!), I’m just not that bothered about any of it anymore.

So does this mean I’m not a fan?

Does it mean that I’m just someone who likes the books and devoured them and lived through them throughout her teenage years but now is just past it?

Can you just stop being a fan of something?

On the other hand, I AM excited for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. For me this is set in the world but it isn’t with the main characters so it’s new and exciting and different. And I like that about it. It’s in the wonderful Harry Potter world but it isn’t Harry Potter.

So where does that leave me?

I just feel really confused and a little lonely as the rest of the world goes a little crazy for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

So…

Are you feeling the same way as me?

I feel the same way. I have no plans to read The Cursed Child. I’m also not a huge fan the way some people are, so maybe that’s why. I love the original seven books, but beyond that, I’m pretty meh about everything.

I think it was obviously. I read all books and it was great fairy story with gradual growing characters and problems ( exepting Voland de Mort).
But seeing the dynamic with hunger games, twilight, divergent I think «Harry Potter And The Cursed Child» the same product. It’s trully hard to build new amazing plot over another one. I think, when it’s end – it’s should be final end.
