Why Did I Write A Book
Not your typical author, I am borderline dyslexic, never diagnosed but I would be surprised if I wasn’t and I got an ‘e’ in English back in my school days.
In addition to that I have only ever read eleven books ever, seven Terry Pratchett books during my time in the RAF and a few others on holidays so how did I end up having my first book published you may ask.
Well it all started about 3 year ago, I had a series of dreams and did not really sleep all night, the dreams followed on from each other like a film.
The next day at work I told a colleague and then another and then another, the story over the next couple of years grew arms and legs.
Roll forward to Jan 2017, after banging on about my dream at every dinner party or get together my wife threw out a typical wife’s challenge, it went like this. ‘You never finish anything you start, why don’t you bloody write it then like you say your going to.’
So 137 words later that was that the editor cut out 30,000 words of noise without losing any content, ‘How do they do that?’ Anyway I worked with a cover designer and had it proof read and here we are.
It difficult being an indi-auther though I got stuck in the tangled web of marketing and then thought do you know what if people find it and read it fine. Not in this to make money. It is nice when lovely people say kind things, the reviews have been amazing, I am so glad to have brought happiness to peoples lives and allowing them into my head via my words.
I have started book two, ‘The Funicular’ I am about 15,000 words in and loving it. I have learned a lot and I don’t think my editor will have to be so ruthless as I think my writing is a bit more to the point now. If it’s funny or moves the plot along. It stays, anything else has no reason to be there.

About the book

As he gradually pieces together the puzzle of Welnetham Hall, Dean is forced to re-evaluate his life and realises that nothing is more important to him than his wife and daughter. Desperate to get back to them, he vows he would lay down his life for the people he loves.
It’s a promise he may have to keep.
About the Author
Their daughter, Annie, is a very good guitarist and is setting up a band, playing every pub in the North East that she can. She’s so rock and roll, living the dream while her father is approaching his mid-life crisis.
A keen golfer and frustrated Middlesbrough FC fan, Trev gets to as many matches as work and leisure time allow. He writes in what little spare time he has, when not working as a IT Consultant for a major oil company in Surrey.
Room 119 – The Whitby Trader is Trev’s first book and he really enjoyed the experience of writing it. Who knows? He may have a few more stories bursting to get out of his head.
