My Thoughts On… Now You See

My Thoughts On… Now You See by Max Manning

Today is my stop on the Now You See blog tour! Below I have all my thoughts on this fantastic book!.

About the Book

I, Killer has posted two photos of his first victim online – Before Death and After Death. They’ve gone viral before DCI Fenton’s team even discovers the body.
Soon, another victim’s photo is similarly posted…and so begins the killer’s following.

DCI Fenton is determined to discover the identity of I, Killer. Then the murderer makes the hunt personal, and Fenton’s search becomes a matter of life or death for him and his daughter.

But as I, Killer’s body-count rises, his number of online followers is growing – and he loves to give his fans what they want…

My Thoughts

I have to admit that I wasn’t sure what to expect with Now You See by Max Manning but I just knew that I wanted to see what it was all about. For which, I am very glad about as this book was very gripping and entertaining. A book that both makes you think and keeps you turning the page as well. I found it very difficult to step away from this book – I simply had to know the answers to all the questions.

One thing that worked incredibly well in this book was the multi pov chapters. Just as you get stuck into one scene and one idea, the story took you somewhere else to someone else. A technique that had me on the edge of my seat as there were quite a few cliff hanging moments throughout the book due to this. I also felt that this style worked really well in that you also got small snippets into the murderer’s mind which was both interesting and disturbing. It also helped to give a full picture of everything going on.

There was an array of characters in this book, some you only see for a short while but others for longer but it still felt like you got a good background on every character in the book. I loved how they were all very different people and how they fit together too. My favourites were Belinda Vale, Fenton and Blake. They were three of the main characters and I really enjoyed following their stories.

Overall, this was an entertaining, albeit disturbing, crime thriller book. It was addictive, gut wrenching and also really made you think too. The major question of social media and the internet running through the book was an interesting touch and a theme that I know will intrigued many readers. The question always being – would you look? Ultimately I would highly recommend this book, especially if you love crime thriller books, but be warned, there are a few gruesome scenes!
