My Thoughts

**These are my first thoughts on the first 33% of the book as I didn’t finish in time due to personal things getting in the way!**

I was instantly intrigued by this book when I started reading it, wondering where the book was going to take me and how the lives of these two strangers was going to coincide. We’re first introduced to Nicola in Waterloo station and I have to let you all know that at first, I did not particularly like her. There was just something about her that didn’t gel with me. After making a scene in the station, she heads home and we’re now introduced to Dmitri. I am not going to lie, I absolutely loved him from the first moment. He has a past that we’re not sure about and seems a little aloof but you can also tell that underneath it all, he cares deeply and fiercely. Throughout this first part of the book, I definitely preferred Dmitri but Nicola did eventually grow on me and I can tell that by the end of the book, I will love them both.

The best part of this book – so far – is when Dmitri and Nicola spend a day together. I’m not going to spoil much but I will say that it is a very interesting day and it was great to get the different opinions on the day from both of the characters as the chapters switch between POVs throughout. I was swept away by the magic of Christmas during this day and could really see myself in London during the Christmas months and it made me feel all warm and magical which was absolutely great. I am definitely intrigued enough by these characters to want to continue reading and I cannot wait to do that this week!

I promise to bring you a full review when I’ve finished the book but lets just say that the start has definitely pulled me into the story and made me want to finish it! I am already falling for both of the main characters and their chemistry together. The backstory that they both bring to the table is slowly being revealed and I am very interested to know how it all unfolds. So, even with just this snippet of the book, I am positive this is going to be a book that I will highly recommend so do make sure you go and get a copy for your Christmas reading!
