My Thoughts

Ghosteleers is a very fun and adventure filled novel that I very much enjoyed. It’s got a very interesting premise and I really enjoyed reading it. I especially loved the dynamic between Morph and Norman. It is a book that I am positive will be enjoyed by many young children who will enjoy witnessing Norman and Morph trying to hone in their special powers as well as trying to save humans from death. It’s got some very unique characters within it and I just loved reading about the relationships between them all. I especially love how little faith most people have in Norman in the beginning because he’s more average than everyone else around!

This is a book that looks at how working together as a team makes you stronger, it also looks at how being smart isn’t the only good thing in life. It’s a very important topic to share with children who are just “average” – you don’t have to be a superhero to be a hero! I really liked this part of the book and definitely think it would be a beneficial book for young children to read. It has a lot of easy language but there are still a lot of words – including some made up ones – so it’d be perfect for a bed time read being read a loud – especially as a parent can then talk to the child about what’s going on – or for those who are just stepping into the world of reading chapter length novels.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It’s full of adventure, suspense, friendship, family and love. All the things that I love seeing in books – basically! The only odd thing was that Norman himself was an older character than those reading the novel. Normally a book for this age range has main protagonists of the same age, however, it definitely works and is written in a way that is very child-friendly too. I would definitely recommend this book as one to read and enjoy!
