Bout of Books 8.0; Goal Post

Bout of Books

Hey Guys!
So I’m really looking forward to Bout of Books starting next week! I’ve got a fairly busy week work wise in the week next week but have the whole weekend off so really looking forward to reading lots over that time!

Goals

– I plan to read three books
– I plan to participate in at least one twitter chat
– As an expert I hope to comment on ten blogs a day
– I plan to participate in at least two challenges

Books to Choose From

every day2 The Iron Traitor
The Killing Woods the knife of never letting go

Every Day by David Levithan; Really looking forward to this one!

The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa; So super excited for this one, I have yet to be disappointed by Julie Kagawa!

The Killing Woods by Lucy Christopher; I have heard so many good things about this one, I hope to find out that they’re all true.

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness; A lot of my blogger friends are begging me to read this one. I don’t plan on finishing it during the read-a-thon but I definitely plan to start it!

Comments: I had an exceptionally long day at work today (9-7) and so I got some reading done at work but as soon as I got home, I had dinner and then tried to read some more but ended up falling asleep. Woke up at midnight with the book on my face and the light still on. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Comments: Wow. Iron Traitor was amazing! Such a fantastic book! And already loving Every Day even though it has only just started. Spent a lot of the day reading – I read slow! – and then did a bit of blogging things before we had a family movie night.

Wrap-Up

I did not complete ANY of my goals. I almost read three books but didn’t quite make it. I tried to join in the last twitter chat but I was late, it was moving too fast and I just found it too hard to actually join in. I found I was too busy to comment on ten blogs a day and feel like I failed as an expert – I probably won’t apply for this role again! And I was always too busy to do any of the challenges / I completely forgot. So yeah… it wasn’t a very successful Bout of Books but I still had fun and enjoyed the books I read so there’s that! Maybe I’ll do better next time?

How did you do?
