Blogger Spotlight – INTERVIEW!

Hey Guys!
So I’m finally going to let you all get to know Kathe a bit more! In my opinion she’s super amazing and lovely, but here’s the evidence of that, so you can all see it too!
Without further Ado;

Tell us a little something about yourself!

Hi, Faye. Thanks for having me! :) Well, I’m a senior in university, currently taking up a major in Psychology and a minor in Japanese Studies. Despite the diversity in my courses, I can proudly say that, above all, I’m a writer type; I work for the university newspaper and yearbook, and, besides helping out with psychological research for different organizations, I’m also a buddy to a foreign exchange student. Fun times!

How long have you had your blog?
I started my blog in February, so I’ve been around for more than four months. It’s not too long, admittedly, but that’s fine with me. I’m learning that it’s difficult to balance my academics, extracurricular work, and my book blog, after all, so I’ll take my time learning the ropes. I’m planning on posting more frequently if possible, so wait for it. Once I get going again, I won’t disappoint! :)
Do you enjoy running your blog?
Oh, yes, I do! I have to admit that it makes me nervous and slightly stressed sometimes, especially since right now I’m incredibly behind on everything book blog-related (as I’ve been away for weeks; the other week, for example, I was in Japan), but I’m very grateful that I had the opportunity to begin at all! It might take me a while to become very regular and to get the hang of things, but I’m hopeful. :)
When you started, did you ever think that it would end up the way it has?
Well, I still consider myself a noob, or newb, or whatever you call it. I don’t have as many connections or reviews as other bloggers do! However, I’m amazed that I have a small following, a group of bloggers with whom I interact (and I love them!), and the dedication not to give up on my little blog. I can’t wait to make it grow!
Is there an interesting background story to the name of your blog, if there is, tell us!
Well, I wrote about it in a Behind the Blog post, but basically, well, 2012 started badly. A health problem came up and it kept me from doing many of the things I wanted to do—right in time for my (mini) quarter-life crisis, too! Ah, timing. To make a long story short, I made my blog’s name Good Lit and Green Tea because I love good literature… and because I’m only allowed to drink tea. Green tea’s best. I do cheat every now and then though… ;)
As we’ve got this far without mentioning it, why not tell us a little something about your blog, what you post, how it runs, who you cater to, etc.
Basically, my blog is a straightforward book blog. I’ve posted mostly reviews so far and am open to book tours, but I haven’t participated in any of the latter yet. :) I try to post a book review once a week!
Since I haven’t done much besides reviews (and memes) so far… Well, though I’m an emotional person and have strong feelings towards things, I make sure that my reviews are influenced by formalism. I want to have solid reasons for my opinions. I think anyone is free to comment on or to follow my blog, but I really want an audience of thinkers. I want to discuss books with people, not just recommend them. :)
Do you participate or host and blog memes? If you do, which is your favourite?
Well, I love Blogspiration by Sarah and Kristin but I don’t post as frequently as I should. I haven’t had much time to find things I find fascinating or inspiring! 
I do co-host a new meme with Faye (I love you!) and Melissa: Behind the Blog. It’s a meme that allows bloggers to talk about themselves… and while it does cater to book bloggers, who tend to keep their lives separate from their blog (which is fine, but we need to know how reviewers tick in order to understand why they think so and so!), it’s open to other types of bloggers as well!
What about blog tours and blog hops? Have you ever or do you ever want to participate in them?
I’d love to participate in blog tours, but I haven’t had the chance to do it, yet. I hope someone will invite me soon! As for blog hops, they’re not a priority, but when I have enough time, I’ll give them a go.
What is the best book you read in in 2012?
The good thing about having a book blog is that it’s motivated me to read more. In 2011 I hardly read anything! This year, though… The Book Thief. Oh my god. I was totally going to overlook it forever until one of my best friends pointed it out to me. After I read it, ugh, I was a changed person. It made me laugh, cry, cry some more, cry about life, cry about… Yeah, it was fantastic. I have yet to find something better!
Has there ever been a book that you haven’t been able to finish? If so, what was it? And why couldn’t you finish?
I can’t leave a book unfinished. I have to finish everything I start. However, sometimes I just want to burn a book or tear pages off it or stomp on it… and that’s a bad sign. I won’t even go into the House of Night series anymore. I’m never going back. Ugh.
What is your favourite book genre?
While I absolutely love fantasy, historical fiction is probably my favorite genre ever. I don’t know when my love for it started, but it’s been going on ever since, and I couldn’t be happier.
Quick Fire Round
ebook or hardcopy?
Hardcopy! Admittedly, once I have a large collection of ebooks, I’ll probably appreciate my Kindle more (and really use it), but when I have hardcopies, I feel a connection to the books that is diminished when I read them digitally. Then again, I’m a bit old school. I’ll get used to ebooks eventually!
ya or adult?
They both have their pros and cons, but I love YA. Maybe being so busy makes me long for the straightforwardness of teenage life and love… or, I don’t know, I just like them. (I’ve read that YA doesn’t refer to the genre, but to the audience, which is true. There are so many themes and topics and settings tackled in the “genre”!) 
I’ve told a good friend that I’m not rushing my reading “adult” books for the sake of acting my age. I’ll take my time with YA. I do read adult books when they catch my eye, though.
vampires or werewolves?
I’m completely torn here. I’ve loved the idea of vampires since forever, but since becoming more of an athlete, I’ve learned to appreciate the transformation and abilities of werewolves. I suppose I like reading about vampires more, but I wouldn’t mind being a werewolf. Let’s stick with that!
chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate. Hands down. I’ve always loved chocolate. Vanilla cannot hold a candle to it!
harry potter or twilight?
Harry Potter. Did you even have to ask? ;)
four or peeta?
Oh, dear. Well, Four can protect me, of course, and I love the fact that he’s brave and clever, but there’s something about Peeta that I can’t help loving. Forgetting all rationality, I think I’ll go with Peeta. I need that type of person in my life!
series or single?
It depends. Some books are better left as standalone novels, while others need the exposition granted by series contracts. (I seem very indecisive, don’t I?) I think they’re tied in my head. I love both types. It is always nice to have something to which I can look forward, though. :)
blogger or wordpress?
Sometimes WordPress irritates me to no end, but I prefer it to Blogger. It feels cleaner somehow, even if there are fewer opportunities to customize a WordPress blog.

Is there anything else you would like to say about you or your blog?
I’d like to apologize for writing so much. I promise it doesn’t happen often! (Lies. Hahaha!) I guess I just want to thank you for reading through this incredibly long post, and, hey, I hope you’ll check out my blog sometime. It’ll be alive and kicking (again) soon, I promise!

    Awesome! I loved reading this Faye and Kathe! Your answers! I felt I was reading one of your e-mails :)

    I didn’t know non-book-bloggers can participate in BTB too! I’d like to recommend it to a couple of my friends, then! Hope they’d want to participate too :)

    I find myself looking for The Book Thief everywhere book-related I go. I hope I find it soon! :D

    Hi-5 about Hardcovers, Harry Potter, vampires (no werewolves for me), chocolates! I’m yet to finish Divergent, but I love Four! His secret side, the protection. Peeta is anyway a favorite. Whom would you pick, Faye? I’d agree on wordpress being cleaner, but I still love blogger! (but, how would I know much? I’ve never even had a wordpress blog).

    It was so much fun reading this! :D
