Author Interview: Simon Farrant
Today I am pleased to welcome Simon Farrant on to the blog with a quick interview! He’s got some very interesting answers to the questions!
Q&A
Thank you for having me on your blog, I’m very honoured. This is my first blog
appearance.
Who is your favourite character in your book and why?
Abbie, because she is dedicated to Mason as his carer. Although she is afraid of the tasks ahead, because they involve the death of other people, she finds a way to help.
What is your favourite drink to consume while writing?
Tea! It gives an excuse to have a brain ponder.
Do you have any bad habits while you’re writing?
Procrastination and going on a tangent, but usually writing time is tight because of family commitments.
How do you research your books?
Google is great, as is Wikipedia. I found while researching killings in the bible there are a lot of resources online.
Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Good question. In essence I’m a pantser, but for the Crucifix I had a general plot. The characters gave me the inspiration for the ending, and a surprise victim!
If you could live in any fictional world, which would you choose and why?
It would have to be Narnia. As a child I loved the stories, and their allegories.
If you could befriend any fictional character, who would you choose and why?
So many to choose from! Jack Nightingale springs to mind from Stephen Leather’s series. With all of those supernatural encounters, he’s bound to have plenty of tales to tell.
About the Author
Last year, he was invited to try his hand at writing. He’s always loved reading; thankfully the adventure is going well. He has had a couple of poems included in charity anthologies, but stories are where his heart lies.
The Crucifix is his first solo novella. Later in 2018, his first novel will be published.
