Behind The Blog #31; The Countdown Begins
Behind the Blog is a meme to help bloggers connect their life and interests to the content showcased on their blog. The co-hosts, Faye, Kathe, and Melissa will provide a different topic, idea, or question every week that bloggers can relate to themselves and the books, films, or other media they find interesting!
The end of 2012 is fast approaching (and I don’t mean the end of the world!), and so this week we are talking all about New Years Eve plans! Do you have anything planned yet? Have you done anything super exciting during any New Years Eve before? Does your town hold anything fun for this turn-of-time?
In relation to media; Are there any books or films that you like which include great New Years Eve plans?
The perfect way to spend New Years Eve would be with all of my amazing book blogger friends, sitting in a room, chatting about books, books, and lots more books! But, unfortunately, this is not going to be a possibility – mostly because we all live across the world and therefore in different time-zones! So instead, I am in need of planning a more do-able new years eve, wouldn’t you agree?
As of right now I don’t have any concrete plans to celebrate the new year, I have a lot of ideas, a few invites but I haven’t decided on one thing to do. Most likely, I’ll end up doing the same thing I do every year by staying in the house and watching movies. Not that, that’s a problem at all as I love movies and love being chilled out but sometimes it’s nice to go out and celebrate!
My Dilemma; Do I spend the new years eve with my friends, probably getting tipsy and having a good old natter!
Do I spend it with my sibblings and celebrate all that there is to share between us all?
Or do I spend it with my mum and her fiance (and possibly their friends)?
In the years that have gone by, I have done all of these three things, but I just can’t decide which one I want to do this time around. Really, I do just want to sit with blogger friends and talk about books – Can we do this somehow instead? *winks at followers*
In the years gone passed, I think the most exciting New Years Eve celebrations I’ve been apart of was the year of the Millennium. We had a lot of guests turn up, family and friends, all the kids helped to paint the garage and turn it into a party room, plus we had a bouncy castle and plenty of fun things to do! It was just such a grand atmosphere and I just remember enjoying it a lot. Of course, I was only nine years old at the time and so anything we had done for the new years was going to be awesome! Haha.
As for books and films, like Melissa, I got a little stuck when it came to this! The only – sadly – film I could think of was New Years Eve, which I think is an interesting film but certainly not my favourite!
But what about you? Do you know any books or films that concentrate or involve a New Year? If so, I want to hear about them!!
