Wrap-Up

May Monthly Wrap Up

monthly-wrap-up

So I ummed and ahhed about whether or not to start doing monthly wrap-ups on the blog but have eventually decided that in an effort to keep my blog more organised, to keep on top of challenges and to do a nice re-cap of the month for you all, that I would do them :-). Therefore, this post will be set out like my weekly highlights post, split into headings in an attempt to keep everything organised easily :D

Monthly Highlights

So really I think I should just be getting used to living a busy lifestyle as there is still no signs of things letting up with the next few weeks booked with work and social engagements. This month has been another rocky one for me but I really am hoping that soon I will get a better grasp of being organised while I’m busy. For this I’m hoping to start scheduling the book WAY in advance but we’ll see how well that goes!

My top three favourite posts I wrote this month are;
Top Ten Tuesday; Books That Deal with Tough Subjects
Monday’s Movie Musings; Iron Man 3
Book Tour Review; Spirit by Brigid Kemmerer

This month I also hosted the LGBT Readathon which went really well and I really enjoyed it! After some great feedback, you can be happy to know that I’ll be planning to re-host the read-a-thon so keep your eyes peeled!

I read nine books this month which means I am now four books behind on my Goodreads Challenge.

Favourite Book

I read some really great books this month and choosing just one is an incredibly difficult task but I think I’m going to have to go with The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud as it was just an amazing book. It pulls you in from the start and really keeps you reading. The writing is absolutely fantastic, the story was thrilling and the whole trio set up just reminded me of Harry Potter and I really feel like this is a book that thousands of teenagers are going to love. Plus, I adored the idea of the ghosts and the agency and it was just brilliant. (And it inspired me to write a short-story which means it must be great, right?). Expect a longer review of this fabulous book further on in the year.

    I’m glad the LGBT readathon went so well. I was rubbish at the reading but thought the twitter chat was really good, so pleased you’ll be hosting it again :) And you make Lockwood & Co sound so good! I will DEFINITELY have to look out for it when it comes out!
