Monday’s Movie Musings; Top Ten Superhero Movies
Monday’s Movie Musings is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts. The idea of this feature is to have all of my movie things occuring in one place. Whether it is a review, article, or something else, this feature will just be all about movies.
This week I am telling you all about my top ten superhero movies
So I don’t read comic books or graphic novels – I’ve read one recently but that doesn’t really mean I read them! – but I do love the movie adaptations. I haven’t watched a LOT of them and really I haven’t read much more than ten so these may not be the BEST out there, they’re just the BEST that I’ve seen!
Avengers Assemble; Oh, I LOVED this movie when I saw it. Like, I wanted to watch it again as SOON as it was over. It was epic in many proportions and if you haven’t seen it, I think you should recitify that straight away.
Iron Man; This film made me a HUGE Robert Downey Jr fan but really it was just Tony Stark that I enjoyed watching. The film is quite simple plot wise and is a lot of special effects but if you like a guy who is cocky but protective, you are sure to like this one!
Batman: The Dark Knight; I actually watched this as my very FIRST Batman movie – I know, terrible, right? – I have now watched Tim Burton’s adaptations and all of Christopher Nolan’s as well but this one is still my favourite. Probably because I ADORE Heath Ledger but also because it just had a dark yet light feel running through it that I just loved!
Thor; I wasn’t sure what to expect when I saw this film but I really liked what I did see! I know some people had issues with the CGI but I just liked the story and got really into the film and that makes it great for me!
The Incredible Hulk; Oh, don’t give me that look! I haven’t seen the original one so I have nothing to compare it to but I did like this film! But, I did prefer Mark Ruffalo playing Hulk in Avengers Assemble, but this film was still great with some epic special effects.
Kick-Ass; I really enjoyed this one. It’s not your typical super-hero film really and yet it really is and I kind of loved it for that. I can’t really say what I liked so much about the film but I do know that I just really loved it.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World; Definitely not your average super-hero movie and I wasn’t sure whether to include it but in his own way, Scott is definitely a super-hero and this film is truly epic and fun and I really enjoyed it!
The Amazing Spider-Man; Yes, the newest adaptation. I have watched the earlier version of this but I don’t know why, I just preferred the new one for some reason. Possibly because it’s fresh in my mind but also because I just thought Andrew Garfield did a brilliant job.
The Losers; One of my absolute favourite films ever. This film is hilarious but full of over-the-top action, epic special effects and cockiness just for the sake of it. It’s a great, fun film that doesn’t even want to take itself seriously and I loved that about it.
Hancock; I think this movie is absolutely hilarious. I love Will Smith and just found myself giggling through a lot of this film. It’s a different way to look at super-hero films and I really like that about it. If you haven’t seen it, you really should!
So there you have it! A list of some great superhero films that I loved! Have you seen any of them? What do you think of my choices? What are some of your favourites?

Love the Avengers! And indeed all Marvel movies – I’m getting the Marvel fact files, at the moment, just to be extra nerdy :) And my boyfriend got me to watch The Losers, I really liked it, pretty damn awesome!

Ahhh, the Batman movies are amazing aren’t they? :D Do you prefer the Christopher Nolan ones or the Tim Burton ones?
You know, I kind of think Hulk might be my favourite – not sure why though! :p

Burtun, but The Dark Knight was pretty awesome too :)
The Dark Knight Rises was…okay. Liked the ending.
Clover
I love superhero films! I feel like I was raised on them. The first film I saw at the cinema was the 1989 Batman film. My dad was crazy obsessed with Superman and everything just sort of carried on from there.. My boys are superhero crazy at the moment, so we’ve been watching a bunch of them lately. It’s amusing what is classified as a superhero film though. I looked once at a wikipedia page which listed ‘Howard the Duck’ as a superhero film! Which is probably only funny if you’re as old as I am, and have seen the film…
