Must See Teen Movies
Some of these titles are classics and some are films that aren’t so well known (but in my opinion should be!). Some are incredibly cheesy, some are really fun. But they’re all great to watch. Hope you enjoy this list!
Pitch Perfect (2012); This is a film that is funny, in places OTT, and will have you rooting for the main character and the main team throughout. A definite must-watch!
Mean Girls (2004); This was the film that made teen movies boom again. It is a classic movie that is funny, interesting and is easy to just re-watch again and again.
Easy A (2010); I truly love this film. I watched it because I think Emma Stone is amazing but this film was really funny, really cute and was just a great one!
The Breakfast Club (1985); Let’s face it, John Hughes was the master of teen movies in his day but this one is definitely one of my favourites of his. If you watch it and like it, I’d definitely recommend any and all of his others like Ferris Beuller’s Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink…
Accepted (2006); This one was a random purchase for me but is a film that I have since re-watched many, many times. It’s about someone who doesn’t get into college and ends up, through many mistakes, creating his own college. It’s funny, fun, and shows that there are many sides to every story!
10 Things I Hate About You (1999); A shakespeare re-telling but done in a modern and incredibly entertaining way! I love this film so much and if you’re a sucker for romance, cheesy lyrics, and a heart-throb bad-guy, then you should watch this film!
Wild Child (2008); This film has a very classic storyline but I love it all the same! It shows that boarding schools aren’t that bad, friends are amazing, and sometimes boys do make the world better. It’s fun, cheesy, and you won’t be able to keep from loving it. And if you do, I’d also recommend St Trinians!
Raise Your Voice (2004); Time to show my “inner-geek”. I was a huge Hilary Duff fan growing up and watched a lot of films with her in. This was one that really grabbed me. It’s an emotional, coming-of-age, friendship story that is great. Other great films with her in include, A Cinderella Story, The Perfect Match and The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
The Fault In Our Stars (2014); I couldn’t not put this in here, right? I saw it three times in the cinema and cannot wait for it to be released on DVD to watch it again! Other films like it that came out in the last few years include Now Is Good, Perks of Being a Wallflower…
The Covenant (2006); This one’s a little different from the rest as it’s a supernatual teen movie. It’s really good though. Addictive, interesting, inticing. You know, all that good stuff. I would definitely recommend you watch it if you like witch-y books!
Not only do I feel that these are movies people should watch, they’re also films that I could easily watch over and over again. Of course, that probably says a lot about me but I don’t care. There’s a lot of negativity surrounding teen movies but I honestly don’t think there should be as a lot of these movies really do have a lot of potential.

Yesssss! I love almost ALL these movies. Only ones I haven’t seen are Pitch Perfect and Wild Child (well and the entirety of Raise Your Voice, I’ve seen parts of it). I think what makes most of these work is that they have good actors, quirky and funny writing, they speak to teen issues and also, a lot of them have great soundtracks. It’s just a total package!

I haven’t seen Wild Child, The Fault In Our Stars, Covenant and Accepted. Some of those have definitely sparked an interest though! I may have to look them up!
