Thursday’s Special Spotlight; Daughter of Smoke and Bone
I want to start this post with an apology. I have been trying to write a proper review for the blog but recently all of my creative juices have left me and I can’t seem to find the motivation to write a review. This has been stressing me out and is basically just added stress that I don’t need right now. Because of that, I just want to say that I may not be posting a proper review for a little while, just until I get my head sorted out. But I do still hope to be posting a fair bit as well, so just bear with me a little bit, please.
Thursday’s Special Spotlight is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts. It is inspired by her library’s “Book of the Week” and Stepping out of the Page’s From the Review Pile. It also stems from how far behind I am on writing reviews and how guilty I often feel about it!
The idea of this feature is to spotlight books that I read e-ons ago that I absolutely loved and I feel deserve the spotlight on this blog! They will be accompanied with reasons as to why I loved them and why I think you should read them.
So it’s been a really long time since I read this book so this is going to be a really small paragraph about it because I don’t want to get any of the details about it wrong but basically this is such an immensely incredible read. I loved the plotline of it and how it all came together, I was hooked by the writing style that was stunning and amazing. It was a book that is powerful and intriguing and really entertaining. One that you could only ever be glad that you read because it is so brilliant. This book is intense, full of twists and turns and you can just see the imagination rolling off the page as you read about all of the different characters and creatures. It may have been a while since I read it but I know that it was one that I truly enjoyed and made me incredibly excited for the second book in the series.
Why do I think YOU should Daughter of Smoke and Bone
If you like fantasy, then I can almost guarentee that you’ll like this book. It is really creative and interesting and has such an interesting plot that it’s hard not to love this book just for that reason alone. The characters in the story are really compelling and I really liked following Karou on her journey through the book. I was rooting for her and wanting her to be okay and I really find that, that is a great thing. If you don’t like fantasy, I still feel that this book is likely to have something for you. The writing style is fantastic and it’s the perfect step into something that feels real but isn’t quite there yet. It is just a magnificent read that really I think everyone should be reading.
Have you read Daughter of Smoke and Bone? Do you agree or disagree with what I’ve said? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
