Top Ten Books I Resolve to Read in 2013
2 January, 2013
**
I know it is Wednesday today, but I got all my days muddled up when I went to write this post and then had no energy to think of something new and actually wanted to share these with you so I left it up.
**
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This week we are making lists on which books we resolve to finally getting around to reading in 2013. In all honesty, I have so many of these but somehow I will narrow them down to just ten!
-
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
I got this a while back after getting many amazing recommendations from my blogging friend Kathe but have yet to open it (to which I am sure she’d be disappointed to here), so I hope very much to read it this year! -
Wonder by R. J. Paladio
This is one that was highly recommended to me and so many people have since mentioned how amazing it is and it is still just sitting on my shelf so I really want to read this one soon! -
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Similar situation to Wonder, I have only read one of John Green’s books but I loved it so I don’t why I am taking so damn long to read this one of his which I have heard so many great things about. -
The Name of The Star by Maureen Johnson
I have had this book for so long and I don’t know why I don’t just pick it up and read it. It sounds like the perfect book for me and yet it just sits there staring at me. -
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
I brought this book way back in January last year when I finished Divergent and was looking for another brilliant book to follow it on with. Somehow I just never got around to reading this but I hope to change that this year. -
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Or really, any Stiefvater book as I seem to own so many of them but haven’t actually read any of her work before. So many people love her stuff so I really need to jump on the bandwagon and find out why! -
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathon Safran Foer
I got this as soon as I watched the film and fell in love with it. But I have yet to pick up this book and feel that book transcend onto the page. This year I really do hope to rectify that. -
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
This is the same situation as above, loved the film so much I brought the book but then never got around to reading it. This is one that is actually near the top of my TBR pile so I hope to read it very soon! -
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
Another film that I absolutely loved. My friend lent me her copy of the book so I plan to read it this year so that I can at least give it back to her in a timely fashion! It is one that I have wanted to read for so long after another friend highly recommended it as well! -
Fallen Series by Lauren Kate
I am one of the only few (I swear) bloggers who hasn’t even started this series yet but I hope to read them all this year so that I can see if they’re books I love or ones that I hate as I know that so many bloggers are on the fence!
What books are you planning to read this year?

Definitely sounds like a good idea to me! Maybe UTNS? :D

Great list! Good luck reading ’em all in 2013! I’ve heard fantastic things about so many of them. The only one I’ve read before is Shiver. It’s not a favorite for me, to be honest. Maggie’s faery books, however, are amazing, especially Ballad!
Faye (Daydreaming_Star)
Ahh, I do have her faery books! Maybe I’ll start with that series instead! :D

I definitely want to read The Book Thief this year too. I’ve had it on my shelf for what feels like forever (which in reality translates to two years) and I’ve been meaning to get started on it. Under the Never Sky is another one I need to read too!
I love Maggie. My favorite book from her is The Scorpio Races :)
Faye (Daydreaming_Star)
Dooo iiiit! :D
You know, that’s like the ONLY Maggie book I don’t have o-O

You need to get a copy of that book! It’s SO GOOD.

The Book Thief also made my TTT list as well. I keep hearing wonderful things about that and Code Name Verity!
I fell in love with Maggie after reading The Raven Boys, and the Shiver trilogy is right up my alley, so I need to add those to my list as well! I’m sort of nervous for John Green’s book because it’s so deep/serious, but everyone keeps raving about it so I might have to check that one out as well. Great list!
Faye (Daydreaming_Star)
Yes! Agreed! But somehow despite all the talk, Code Name Verity never makes my list! I must amend this! lol.
I have heard so many good things about the Raven Boys! And I agree, that is why I’ve been cautious with it too. I love books that dive deep into the emotional field but that doesn’t stop me from being wary about them! :D

The Book Thief is amazing!! I really hope to read The Name of the Star this year too. And you MUST read The Fault in Our Stars, because it is simply fantastic, even though you’ll need a box of tissues by your side as you read it.
Great list!
Faye (Daydreaming_Star)
I will keep that in mind when thinking about reading it!
We shall both do it!!
And it just so happens to be my book club’s february pick soo … :D

Eeeek! Good to hear! :D
Thank you Kaley :)

This is a great list of books to read! I have The Book Thief on my list this year! I haven’t read it either!
Faye (Daydreaming_Star)
We must do it this year! yes yes :D

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is extremely good. I read the book first, then watched the movie and loved both :)
Congrats on moving to WordPress!
Faye (Daydreaming_Star)
Oooh! I’ll be looking forward to it even more now then! I really do want to read it this year! Haha.
And thanks :-)

I didn’t like Fallen. Shiver is real emotional. and I need to read that John Green book too!
Faye (Daydreaming_Star)
Yeah, I know it’s a love/hate book so I’m curious about it! Will bear that in mind when I get to it! And yes! You do! hehe, supposedly :P
