Top Ten Tuesday; Amazing Books of 2014!
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new topic is given and this weeks topic is Top Ten Books Read in 2014.
For this week I have chosen to (somehow) choose my top ten books overall this year. There were SO MANY amazing books to choose from and if I could have a top twenty, then I would! Instead… here are my top ten…
Cross my Heart by Carmen Reid; This book really blew me away. It was much better than I thought it was going to be. It was action-packed, intense, thrilling, and packed a full emotional punch.
Bird by Crystal Chan; I had no idea what to expect with this book but I definitely didn’t expect it to pull me in so much. This book is powerful, heart-warming and is just such a brilliantly written book.
Unhinged by A. G. Howard; I knew I was going to love this one because Splintered was sooo good. This book was beautifully written, held a capitvating story and pulled your emotions all over the place!
Drummer Girl by Bridget Tyler; When it comes to this book, I was a little wary because I found the cover to be bland and I disliked the pink edged pages but it had been highly recommended so I read it. And I loved it. The story was so very different from the shell it came in. This story is dark, powerful, emotional, and held a lot of very interesting messages. It was truly great.
Vicious by V. E. Schwab; This is another book I was wary about trying but it turned out I needn’t have been. This book was incredible. It is unique in the best way. Has a fascinating story at the centre and just really managed to draw me in to the story!
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson; This is such a fun story to read. I love that it’s a friendship story and is all about finding yourself and becomming a better person and I just loved everything about it. What a brilliantly written and superb book!
Landline by Rainbow Rowell; This book was super cute. A magical realism book that I really enjoyed reading. I loved all the characters and the way it all came together in the end. It was such a nice, lovely book!
Where Love Lies by Julie Cohen; This book is so different to what I thought it was going to be. I loved where it went in the end and thought it was such a beautiful story. Incredibly scary in places but also really, really, cute and emotional and intense. Just, truly wonderful.
Little Lies by Liane Moriarty; This book is amazingly well written and structured. It blew me away. Pulled me in at the start and made it very difficult for me to stop reading. It was fascinating and intriguing and just full of wonderful characters. An amazing book all around!
Lies Like Love by Louisa Reid; I have loved Louisa Reid’s books since I first read Black Heart Blue two years ago in one sitting. This book is just as powerful, intense, and great as that first one. It has a different twist to it but I still love that Louisa takes dark topics and turns them into beautiful flowing stories. I think this book is incredible.
And there you have them! Other books worth mentioning are;
Bombmaker by Claire McFall
The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa
Amy and Matthew by Cammie McGowen
You Don’t Know Me by Sophia Bennett
Delicious! by Ruth Reichl
Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
and many, many more!

Brilliant list Faye. It looks like you have read some great books this year. I really want to read Where Love Lies after enjoying Dear Thing by the same author. I also really enjoyed Since You’ve Been Gone and Bird!

Ooh, amazing list. I think the only book I share on my list is Lies Like Love which I just thought was incredible. But Bird and Since You’ve Been Gone very nearly made mine…
