Waiting on Wednesday #13

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine where you can spotlight a book that you’re giddy with excitement to read so that other people can be giddy with excitement too :)
As I run a book and film blog, I do this meme including books and films that I am waiting on. This week I have two books for your viewing pleasure and one film. Hope that you like them too! :D

So this week I am showcasing two books that I found out about through ArmchairBEA yesterday, thanks to the lovely Tanya at Girl xoxo and one film that I am really looking forward to going and watching.

Summary:

Nick Cross always listens to the voice in his head. Because if he doesn’t? Things can go really, really wrong. Like the day he decided to go off script and saved a girl from being run over . . . and let another one drown. Trying to change the future doesn’t work.

But this summer at the Jersey Shore, something’s about to happen that Nick never could have predicted. He meets a girl named Taryn and finds out about the Book of Touch. Now the path that he thought he was on begins to shift . . . and there’s no way to stop things from happening. Or is there? In a life where there are no surprises, nothing has prepared Nick for what he’s about to discover–or the choice he will be forced to make. . . .

Why?: First of all the cover called to me, like really called to me and then, after I had read the synopsis I just knew I needed to read this book. I am so looking forward to this. I mean, Book of Touch? A choice he’s forced to make? Oh yes. I’m definitely intrigued!

Summary:

Sixteen-year-old Evening Spiker lives an affluent life in San Francisco with her mother, EmmaRose, a successful geneticist and owner of Spiker Biotech. Sure, Evening misses her father who died mysteriously, but she’s never really questioned it. Much like how she’s never stopped to think how off it is that she’s never been sick. That is, until she’s struck by a car and is exposed to extensive injuries. Injuries that seem to be healing faster than physically possible.

While recuperating in Spiker Biotech’s lush facilities, she meets Solo Plissken, a very attractive, if off-putting boy her age who spent his life at Spiker Biotech. Like Evening, he’s never questioned anything… until now. Solo drops hints to Evening that something isn’t right, and Emma-Rose may be behind it. Evening puts this out of her mind and begins her summer internship project: To simulate the creation of the perfect boy. With the help of Solo, Evening uncovers secrets so big they could change the world completely.

Why?: Again, that cover? I just want to hug it. It’s so pretty and amazing. Then we read the synopsis and how can you not want to read this book? A girl who creates the perfect boy? And the idea that she may be a clone herself? It just… it is grabbing at me and calling at me and I need to read it!
