Weekly Highlights; The #BBUKYAawards Edition

weekly highlights

Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.

In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.

Post Highlights

A pretty steady week post-wise, if I do say so myself! I definitely think not posting every day has its perks!

I posted ONE review this week;
A Crack in the Line by Michael Lawrence (FOUR HEARTS)

I also did something a little differently this week and posted a list of books that all have a similar trend, can you work out what the trend is? Check it out here.

Book Blogger UKYA Awards

But the biggest post this week goes to the Book Blogger UKYA Award winners! I just want to say a massive thank you again to everyone who helped to make this a success and I really hope you like all your winners! Don’t forget to congratulate them all!
You can find the winners here.

Around the Blogosphere

This week Gaby and Lisa have officially started their co-blogging site! I’m super excited to keep up to date with them all. You can find Gaby’s leaving post, and links to the new site here.

Something I’ve been struggling with is keeping my life in healthy balance. This week Nicole has posted about how she balances things. Find out how she does it here, and of course, tell her how you balance life!

This week Jen talks about forbidden romances and when it goes too far – for her. Head over to this post to find out what she put and to add in your own two cents!

Andye has posted a very interesting discussion post this week about author responsibility. Have a look at what she says in this post.

Letterbox Love

It’s been a pretty spectacular week, book wise! I’m SO EXCITED and so HAPPY about so many of the books I got!

Anatomy of a misfit Where Rainbows End The Husband's Secret

Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Portes; I’ve had my eye on this since BEA and I’m glad to finally have a copy! Cannot wait to get to reading it. Thank you so much to Harper360 for this book.

Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern; I actually already owned this book but when I went to the premiere of the film, I completely forgot to take it with me! Thus I bought it again and got it signed by the author, director, and some of the actors and actresses! Needless to say, this is now a very special book!

The Husband’s Secret by Liane Morriarty; Ever since I finished Little Lies, I’ve been dying to read this book so when I saw it was on offer, how could I possibly resist? Really looking forward to reading this one, eventually.

Penelope Gone Girl 2 Opal Plumstead

Penelope by Rachel Harrington; I’ve been meaning to read this book for AGES. One of my aussie blogger friends told me it was amazing and I’ve since had it on my radar. Finally saw it in paperback and on offer so I HAD to buy it!

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn; I saw the film of this last week and I loved it! It was a little disturbing and quite entertaining all at the same time. Regardless, I cannot wait to read the book so I was very happy that my mum has lent me her copy!

Opal Plumstead by Jacqueline Wilson; I LOVE Jacqueline Wilson. I grew up reading her books and so when I heard about this one, I knew I wanted to read it. Add in a super interesting summary and I couldn’t wait. I’ll be reviewing this for Big Book Little Book. Many thanks to Penguin Random House for the copy!

Currently Reading

I read a few books at a time so I have decided that I want to showcase them a little on the blog and so from now on I thought I would tell you all what I’m currently reading (on Saturday/Sunday!)

This week I am currently reading;

Us BetterThanPerfect Cover Opal Plumstead CLOVEN-web-medium

And there you have it, my Weekly Highlights!
