Weekly Highlights; The Week-Off Edition
Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.
In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.
Post Highlights
So this week I have had a lovely week off from work and have been driving up and down the country visiting friends that I haven’t seen in a long time and it has been a really great way to spend some time off – though a bit annoying too as I haven’t done enough reading! But, it has also meant that I’ve been able to – just about – be a bit more on top of my blogging and actually had a fairly busy week posting wise this week, which made me very happy! I also have many things planned for next week, so yay!
I posted THREE reviews this week;
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013) (THREE HEARTS)
Lockwood & Co: Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud (FIVE HEARTS)
Earthbound by Aprilynne Pike (FIVE HEARTS)
I also had the amazingly talented Jonathan Stroud on the blog. Read his guest post on his writing career here
Upcoming
So this week I have a few posts waiting to go up!
I’m participating in a cover reveal, that I hope you’ll all love to see.
I’m participating in a tour of a new adult novel
I’ll have my monthly-wrap up going up tomorrow as well so keep your eye out for that so that you can see what book I adored the most this month – plus more things!
I also plan to post a few more reviews – fingers crossed! – so keep a lookout for those as well!
And… in a few weeks time, I’ll also be celebrating my two-year blogoversary! And behind the scenes I have been doing a LOT of organising and I just want to share with you all that I have some amazing things planned for you all with some great things to giveaway as well. I hope you’re as excited about this as I am!
Around the Blogosphere
This week, Jamie has written an incredibly personal and honest post about how she feels when she has to blog when she doesn’t feel herself. I found it to be an amazing and completely relatable post. Check it out here.
Jamie also wrote a post about the lessons her mum taught her that she applies to blogging. I found this to be another great post. Read all about them here.
If you follow Lucy on twitter then you’ll know she’s been going on about a super secret project. She has finally announced what it is going to be! Find out what it is here.
Kimba is always doing some great blogging tips. This week she has written some tips on moving to WordPress, and not just a how-to but some information that is just really helpful to know before you move. Check these tips out by clicking here.
Have you ever wondered if it is possible to burn out on reading because you do it so much? This week Gaby speaks about how she has been doing a lot of reading recently and how she fears its ruining the experience for her. Check out why and add your own thoughts here.
If you’re reading this blog then you’re likely to be a book lover, so you should know what it is like to have a lot of books. This week Lucy has confessed to being a book addict and has shown us all her shelves. To see them all, click here.
One of the things I have found difficult about blogging is just finding the time to do it. Rachel is just entering her senior year and she feels as though she’s not going to have enough time. So she’s asking everyone with other commitments how they manage their time. To read her story and to add your thoughts, go here.
Letterbox Love
So this week I met up with Sarah from Total Teen Fiction, and it was absolutely great to finally meet her – and I was the first book blogger she’s met! – and together we went book shopping. Of course, this was a very dangerous thing to do! We both ended up with more books that I’m sure, essentially, we didn’t need.
I ended up with eight new books but at the moment they’re all in the boot (trunk) of my car as I’m still not home yet so I can’t show you any lovely pictures or put up a lovely video. So, instead, I have decided to tell you that I did get books this week and that I will be showing you what I got soon.
Maybe in a vlog during the week. But if not, in next weeks Weekly Highlights. Keep an eye out!
And there you have it, my Weekly Highlights!
I hope to visit all posts of this manner, so feel free to link to your own IMMs, Sunday Showcase, Sunday Posts, Letterbox Loves or whatever it is you do below!
what did you get this week? what cool blog posts did you stumble upon? what are you waiting to happen this week?

Been a great week for you, huh? Nice to hear you met up with Sarah, I’ve yet to meet up with any bloggers in person, apart from Sophie but I don’t think she counts because I knew her before I knew she blogged! And thanks for the posts on personal blogging issues; I know it seems like you’re the only one that feels like that, a slump or whatever, and I feel pretty lazy towards blogging at the moment and that’s not fair to anyone. So it’s nice to see we’re not alone in that and it doesn’t mean we still don’t love it!

Thanks for the two mentions, Faye! I really appreciate it.
It’s so awesome that you got to meet up with Sarah. I love meeting other bloggers!
Happy reading!
