Today is my stop on the Theatrical blog tour and I’m here today to tell you all about this book and share my theatre experiences with you! (I was also going to review the book but due to personal issues, this has not happened yet but hopefully I will do this soon!)

My Theatre Experience
When I was a teenager I absolutely lived for the stage. I wish I was joking but I am not. I was in every school production, I worked incredibly hard in my drama lessons and eventually went on to do Drama at A Levels as well. I loved every single second of it. In fact, I enjoyed it all so much that I also went to a drama group outside of school for two years too. It was in every way, a large part of my life and to this day, I still have very fond memories of my time acting – and especially in being part of the theatre world.
The biggest problem I had was that I actually was not very good. I don’t say this lightly either. I practiced all the time, it was after-all, my livelihood. But I had a very big problem. It was a lack of confidence. I did not feel confident in my appearance or my abilities and this showed in every performance I ever did. I wasn’t truly awful but I was definitely only ever mediocre. I am positive that if I had stuck with it, I may have grown more confident and therefore simply became better at it all but essentially, I don’t think I was meant to be on stage.
But I do not regret a minute of my time trying.
I loved being on the stage and being a part of that team. One of my favorite moments was directing a play for the younger members of my drama group. I helped them with their lines, their actions and even their accents too. It was an incredible experience and I believe that is probably where I would always be best in theatre. Somewhere behind the scenes but still apart of the incredible team that puts it all together.
On top of all of that, I also absolutely love going to the theatre. From big blockbuster musicals (though I’ve not seen many of these!) to smaller productions. I love the atmosphere of a play. The way everyone becomes absorbed in the acting and the way a performance can truly take you on a journey. I love seeing people I know in plays as well and being able to congratulate them afterwards as well. There is something quite truly magical about theatre both from the stage, behind it and in front of it.
I truly hope it never dies.
