Blogger Spotlight; Most Anticipated YA Contemps!

Sophiebloggsp

Hi Guys!
So today I have the wonderful Sophie on the blog for you all talking all about the contemporary YA books that she is most looking forward to this year! I hope that it gives you a good insight into Sophie and her blog!
Enjoy.

As some of you may already know, I’m a massive fan of contemporary YA. It’s by far my favourite genre so here are the contemps that I’m most looking forward to reading this year!

the moon and more

The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
Oh, Sarah Dessen, how I worship you. With only one novel being released every two years, the countdown for Sarah Dessen’s new novel is always fraught with excitement and anticipation. Luckily, come June 4th I’ll have The Moon and More to devour.

There’s something about the gorgeous beach-side setting of Colby that captures my heart and I can’t wait to be back there and get to know it through the eyes of Emmeline. Sarah has hinted that The Moon and More may be a little different to her previous novels so I’m dying to see what she means.

Follow Me Down

Follow Me Down by Tanya Byrne
Tanya’s first novel, Heart-Shaped Bruise, blew me away when I read it last summer. It was dark, twisted and really pulled on my heart strings. I’m curious to see if Tanya once again makes me able to empathise and love a difficult heroine.

I really think Tanya is one of the biggest talents on the UKYA scene.

Dirty Little Secret

Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols
I thoroughly enjoy Jennifer Echols’ romantic dramas and I love having a new one on its way. My favourites of hers are definitely Going Too Far and Such a Rush as they had elements I hadn’t really encountered before, but Dirty Little Secret is going to take something done time and time before and hopefully give it a new burst of life: the music scene.

Echols’s novels are also sultry and romantic which never goes amiss!

Isla and the happily ever after

Isla and the Happily Ever by Stephanie Perkins
I completely adore this series and though I’ll be sad to see these characters go, I can’t wait to see how all of their stories are all wrapped-up. The first two books left me with a dreamy smile and a severe case of the warm fuzzies so I’m expecting no less from Isla. Perkins is the type of author to make you want to be her heroine’s best friend and completely fall in love with the guy and I’m very much looking forward to experiencing that again.

Dare you to

Dare You To by Katie McGarry
Katie’s debut¸ Pushing the Limits was one of my favourite books last year: fast-paced, addictive and gorgeous romance. I also love it when series move on to different characters in the same world, much like Stephanie Perkins’ series, and though I don’t really remember Beth and Ryan, I’m excited!

These five books are only just scratching the surface of great contemporary YA releases this year; I mean we’ve already have some brilliant releases:

Diary of a Mall Girl by Luisa Plaja
Drowning Instinct by Isla J Bick
Geek Girl by Holly Smale
Dead Romantic by CJ Skuse
Undone by Cat Clarke
Just One Day by Gayle Forman

I hope you’ve found some contemp to take your fancy! And thanks for having me Faye!
