Christmas Movies!
Merry Belated Christmas All!
This festive season has been a busy one for me, but I’ve loved every minute of it! I was planning to post this on Christmas day but things got a little bit too hectic for me to carve the time to do it so instead I am posting this today because I can.
Because I don’t want to post anything too heavy today, I thought I would list my top twelve Christmas/winter-y films for you all! These films I love to watch to get into the festive mood!
The Family Stone (2005); This film is probably my ultimate favourite Christmas movie. It’s a family filled story that is full of drama, laughs, tears, and general merriment and I just love it.
It’s A Wonderful Life (1946); I first watched this one only a few years ago but I absolutely adore it. It’s such a brilliant film, a complete Christmas classic that you should definitely watch if you haven’t already.
Love, Actually (2003); A lovely film that combines lots of little stories into one big story. It shows how different everyone’s Christmasses are and how you can still carry on the festive cheer despite some hardships. It’s a great film.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000); Earlier this month I wrote my post about how I’m the Christmas Grinch, so it makes sense that this film is on here. I adore this film and I love how by the end of it all, all is sorted and well. It’s just the perfect film – especially for me!
Home Alone (1990); All three of them, actually. If ever there was a classic Christmas movie, it’d be this one! It’s a brilliant film about a boy who will stop at nothing to defend his home – and basically just has an amazing Christmas!
The Santa Clause (1994); I adore this film SO MUCH. It is seriously so magical and full of family values, fun, and entertainment. If you haven’t watched this one, you really should!
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993); Such a fun film! I love the idea of this film and the execution is just perfect. This film is one that I would happily watch over and over again. Bless Jack Skeleton!
Just Friends (2005); If you like films that are a little over the top but are hilarious, full of cheer, and all sorts of other emotions – such as cringe-worthy-ness! – then you should watch this film! It is such a great film and one that is sure to get you laughing!
A Christmas Carol (2009); All versions of this film apply here but I loved this new adaptation of the film. It was really well done. This is the perfect Christmas classic to get you in the perfect mood!
While You Were Sleeping (1995); This is a super romantic funny tale that always manages to make me smile. I love how this film makes me feel and while it’s not like the other classic Christmas films on this list, it is still a brilliant one to watch at Christmas!
Rise of the Guardians (2013); This film is absolutely amazing. I loved the plot of this one, and it looks amazing. It will make you laugh and cry and jump up in happiness again. It’s the perfect film for children but also brilliant for adults as well. A wonderful film to watch at Christmas!
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (1987); Essentially this film is set for Thanksgiving but it still has that Christmassy vibe to it and I love it for that reason alone. It’s a funny film that will eventually fill you with warmth and happiness. Exactly what you want on this festive day!
So that is all the wonderful films I love watching at this time of year.
What are some of your favourite christmas movies or movies to get you in the christmas mood? I’d love to hear about them so I can add some new ones to my collections!
And lastly, I wish you all a happy new year.

Cool list! I saw It’s A Wonderful Life on the big screen last week – utterly amazing. Even better than the 5 or 6 times I’ve watched it on DVD. :)
