November Monthly Wrap Up

monthly-wrap-up

So I ummed and ahhed about whether or not to start doing monthly wrap-ups on the blog but have eventually decided that in an effort to keep my blog more organised, to keep on top of challenges and to do a nice re-cap of the month for you all, that I would do them :-). Therefore, this post will be set out like my weekly highlights post, split into headings in an attempt to keep everything organised easily :D

Monthly Highlights

I’m sure I say this every month but I’m really stumped at the fact it is December already. The years really do fly by, don’t they?

This month was crazy busy for me! I attempted to do NaNoWriMo and failed to reach 50K BUT I did manage almost 12K which is better than nothing!

I had a lot of work on as well, I’m now trying to juggle three jobs and a social life which is different.

Book event wise, I got to meet Jacqueline Wilson which was awesome and amazing! I’ve been reading her books for over ten years now so it was just so lovely to finally meet her.

And cinema-wise, I’ve definitely kept busy but I would say Mockingjay was a favourite!

My top three posts of the month were;
Top Ten Tuesday: Sequels I Can’t Wait For
Book Review: Amy & Matthew by Cammie McGovern
Faye’s Thoughts on… Forgetting

In the midst of my busy month I managed to read seven and a half books which I’m rather proud of. I would, obviously, like to have read more but I’ll take what I can get!

Favourite Book

Delicious I read this book while I was ill this month and it was the perfect book to escape with. While it took me a while to read – for reasons mentioned above – it was one that I ultimately enjoyed from start to finish. It was heart-warming, had a lovely plot and centered around a protagonist I couldn’t help but love. It was, essentially, a coming-of-age story that I melted into and a book I would readily recommend to others. It was also about food which all sounded really delicious and just made the book have that little extra spark but what I really enjoyed about this book was the way that it had so many different subplots surrounding it all. I loved all of the characters, the journey they all took, and the way it was all just written so well. It is definitely a book that you should try if you like contemporary adult books. Or even if you like YA but want something a little more as the main protagonist is in her early twenties and just starting her life living alone in NYC. It really is a lovely little read.
