Weekly Highlights; The First In A While Edition
Weekly Highlights is a feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.
In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.
Post Highlights
It’s been a while since I did one of these, sorry about that but I have been insanely busy and also just got a little bit addicted to the TV show Suits, cooking from scratch and doing more exercise while the sun is here. But I finally got some time to sit down and do some writing, so here’s what’s been happening on this blog lately, just in case you’ve missed it!
I posted FOUR reviews;
The Rain by Virginia Bergin (THREE STARS)
Me Since You by Laura Weiss (FOUR STARS)
Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healey (FOUR STARS)
Spotlight on Sunny by Keris Stainton (FIVE STARS)
I gave you ten reasons to read The Lives and Loves of Jesobel Jones by Anna Mainwaring. You can read them here.
I was honoured to host the amazing Keren David on the blog with a brilliant blog post about the LGBT themes in her new book, This Is Not A Love Story. You can read it by clicking here.

Around the Blogopshere
There have been a lot of amazing posts going live in the world in the last few weeks but here are just a few that went up this week that I really enjoyed reading.
Lucy wrote a great post recommending some brilliant books that include diversity. To see which books she chose, click here.
Vivienne has a great feature going on at the moment where bloggers choose eight books they would be happy to have with them if they were deserted on an island. This week Rosy has listed hers. You can read her choices here.
And on the other side of things, Rosy has a great feature on her blog where bloggers talk about some of the darker sides of blogging. This week she hosted the fab Rhys. To see his answers to her questions, click here.
Sophie wrote a great post this week about her April Favourites. Find out what they were here.
One book I’m really excited to read is This Is Not A Love Story so today I wanted to share with you Debbie‘s fantastic review of it which is here.
Carly has written a great post with some great recommendations too. To see what books she thinks you should be reading click here.
Finally, another book I cannot wait to read is A Court of Thorns and Roses and while there are a pile of reviews out there. I loved this one by Kelley. You can read it here.
Letterbox Love
I’ve recieved, borrowed and purchased a selection of books in the last few weeks but I can’t remember all of them so here’s just a small sample of the ones I was the most excited about and cannot wait to dive into.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir; I am so excited for this one. I’ve heard a million great things and cannot wait to dive into it!
One by Sarah Crossan; I have yet to be disappointed by Sarah and this book sounds amazing and already has raving reviews. I need to read this soon.
Read Me Like A Book by Liz Kessler; This book sounds amazing, is already hyped and is just likely to be a book I will love. I cannot wait to read it.
Voices in Stone by Emily Diamand; I loved the first book in this series so as soon as I saw this book come into the library, I instantly picked it up to take it out again!
Weightless by Sarah Bannan; This one keeps popping up on my radar so when it came into the library, I decided to take it out and give it a try!
Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley; Another book I keep seeing around and have heard great things about. Took it out of the library straight away. Can’t wait to read it!
We All Looked Up By Tommy Wallach; This has been getting lots of good reviews and is my book club book for the month. I’ve borrowed it from the library and am very interested to see if I like it too!
The Day we Disappeared by Lucy Robinson; I have recently discovered Lucy and I think her books all sound really good, but I somehow haven’t read one yet. I hope to rectify that very soon and I think this one sounds fab so I had to borrow it!
We Should Hang Out Sometime by Josh Sandquist; This is a book I’ve seen everywhere and it sounds like a really great read. Thus when I saw that my housemate was trying to get rid of it, I very happily took it off her hands.
Because You’ll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas; I actually requested this book on Netgalley and got declined so when my housemate had a spare copy, I was quite excited. I cannot wait to see if this story is as good as it sounds.
Spelled by Betsy Schow; This book came onto my radar thanks to Sourcefire books and it sounds like a book I’m really going to enjoy. And just look at that stunning cover! I love fairytale adaption books and this sounds fascinating.
The Escape by Hannah Jane; Just like everyone else at the moment, I’m getting a bit obssessed with thrillers and mysteries, thus when I heard about this book I couldn’t help but want to read it. Thank you to Sourcefire books for this review copy!
The Other Me by Saskia Sarginson; I really enjoyed Saskia’s first book and this one sounds really interesting so I couldn’t help but request it. Many thanks to Little Brown for this review copy.
The Potion Diaries by Amy Alward; I have read Amy’s first book and I really enjoyed it. I will be reading her second soon too but as soon as I heard about this, I knew I wanted to read it. It sounds fantastic. Thank you to Simon and Schuster for this review copy.
Any Way You Slice It by Kristine Carlson Asselin; As soon as I saw this on Netgalley, I couldn’t help but request it. It sounds really interesting and a book that I’m sure to enjoy. I am very much looking forward to diving into it. Thanks to Bloomsbury for this review copy.
Every Last Word by Tammara Ireland Stone; I have heard so many amazing things about this book and I think I’m going to love it so I cannot wait to dive into it. Many thanks to Disney-Hyperion for this review copy.
