Behind the Blog – New Meme Intro Post
Hey guys!
So, I told you that I was working on something new for the site, and here it is: a dazzling and shiny new weekly meme called Behind The Blog! This will be co-hosted by Kathe, Melissa, and me. But what is it exactly?
A while back I was trying to think of something different to do on my blog, something fun and unique and interesting, and then I was truly inspired by Kathe’s personal post where she opened up about who she is, even sharing her picture with all of her wonderful followers. It was an amazing post that really opened my eyes and made me want to do a similar post myself. Meanwhile, Melissa was asking if anyone would like to help her with a strikingly similar meme idea she had, and I realised it would be quite inspiring to have a meme in which the blogger reveals more about himself or herself every single week. Hence, Behind the Blog was born.
The idea was discussed behind the scenes for a while as we tried to get our plans and expectations about the meme together, and now we finally have some concrete ideas that we’re excited to share with all of you! Unfortunately, Melissa will not be participating in the meme at first as she is on a blog hiatus for IRL reasons, but when she returns, she will be helping and participating along with us. I’m excited for that moment, as I’m sure you should be.
So what will happen?
Well, every Friday, Kathe and I will create a post on our blogs with the same Mr. Linky at the bottom. In the post we will provide a topic, question, or idea for discussion, and then talk about this in relation to ourselves, revealing a little bit about the people we are behind the blog. We can also choose to relate the post to books (or films) in some way to make it possible to see the connection to the blog.
Then you can take the topic we provided—or use your own if you prefer—and do the same. If you’d prefer to talk about the topic in relation to books or the characters in them, that’s fine. Of course, you don’t even have to mention books if you don’t want to!
Still confused?
Here’s a small example:
So, the topic of the week is pets.
I would write a post telling you about my pets: about the ones I have now, those I used to have, how I feel about pets in general, or anything else under the sun; after all, the world is my oyster–and yours. Then, I would relate the topic of pets to books and films. I could describe my favourite pet in a book or film, maybe a film or book that involves pets that I adored, or maybe talk about a book that I wished had pets in it but didn’t.
The point is to make it personal. It’s about getting to know the blogger behind the blog.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch via comments, e-mail, Twitter, or Facebook! Suggestions would be great too. Aside from that, look out for our posts on Friday and I cannot wait to read yours!
