Blogspiration #17; Inspire to Create
So on Friday I was having a yummy and scrumptious dinner in the marvellous restaurant that is ASK when I pick up the menu and turn it over. Here I see these words; “It’s so good, it inspired us to create.” – Of course, they were talking about some kind of food that they created but these words just struck me about how amazing inspiration can be.
Inspiration can come from anywhere or anything. If it’s good or brilliant or just better then anything you could imagine to create, we can feel inspired to create something that is amazing because we want to be great. We want to show the world that we can go that one step further, that we have imagination and creativity within us.
I love being inspired. I love inspiration. But what I love most is creativity. I love creating something. Being able to take a step back and say that whatever I just made or wrote or did, that was all me. It is this which is truly amazing. Even if it’s worthless, or not as good as something else, at least I tried which is better than anyone could really ask for.
So this blogspiration is about being inspired enough to create. Therefore I am asking you, what has inspired you lately?

This is actually something that I’ve been thinking for a while now. I can’t find my inspiration anymore. I don’t know where to focus. I do things because I know I must or need to do and lots of times not because I want to or feel to (except for going to take a coffee and read a good book, but this doesn’t count :P)
Like psychology. I love psychology, but I am a far cry away from knowing what I actually want to do with it. And I don’t want a boring job. And yet I don’t know what job I would love to do. What will it be, that will make me want to do better?
And it’s not only the career. It’s also about life. I would love to find something that will keep me awake at night and wonder all the possible way I could explore more. God, I wish I knew the answer.
I want more from life and definitely I want more from me. I guess I just need to find what means more to me.
Faye, great blogspiration ;) as always ;) <3

Whenever I find my creativity fading, I try something that I’ve never done before. Trust me, you’ll probably be horrible at whatever it is to begin with, but when you start getting better your creativity leaps back on board.

I like this. I think my favourite source of inspiration is just when I’m familiar enough with my characters that they just start talking to me. Not like, a constant stream of chatter, obviously, but I’ll have lines of dialogue drift into my head, or I’ll just know how they’ll respond because I know them. But to get to know my characters, I draw them (slightly obsessively), write lists of their favourite things and outfits and suchlike.
Most of the time thought, it’s just that I spend a lot of time on my own, with my own thoughts. So it’s less a specific thing or place for inspiration and more the long process of my mind wandering around my skull and occasionally thinking something vaguely profound.

This is so perfect. My uni instructor asked the class the other day why they were taking Video Media and when I told her I was hoping to be a producer some day, and she asked why. This is exactly why. To create. I have a blog to create, I write to create, I muck around making stupid little short films that always get deleted, just to create. My instructor started on about the money though, and made the whole thing sound so seedy and we all pretty much walked out of the class feeling like crap.
Some people just don’t get it. I’m glad there are people who do though.

One thing that inspires me is music. And I am so excited because some of my fave artists are coming out with new albums! Like Fiona Apple, Mumford & Sons, Amanda Palmer. With some fresh tunes, maybe my creativity will be re-energized.
This was a great post Faye!

I love your outlook on things. At the end of the day, you’ll regret very little. And you’ll have adventures and more amazing life experiences than most.
