Join the fun. The only thing holding you back is your own personality.

We recommend that you read Gripped with a nice bottled water.

If You Are

When I got the e-mail to participate in this tour, I knew that I shouldn’t sign up as I have too many books to read as it is but then I started reading the sample chapters on Goodreads and found that while it was a little graphic, it actually made me laugh. Thus, I continued reading until I found that I really wanted to know where the story was going to take me and so I made sure to get involved with the book tour. Now, having read the book, I am really glad that I did. While parts of the book made me feel a little uncomfortable, I was fully invested in this story and the mystery surrounding it. When I finished, I couldn’t help but feel like I needed more straight away. I will mention now, however, that this book is an adult book and not YA.

Reading This

How would you deal with it if you walked into an apartment and there was an advert designed specifically for you? With it talking directly to you and, without you even being aware, you’re signed up to take part of this program? When it keeps going well and makes you feel happier and more whole as a person, you’re unlikely to start questioning the program, right? I loved the concept of this book because I know that I would be far too anxious to just do whatever I was told. I loved how it gave you just enough information to keep you on your toes but never too much information to bore you. It was brilliant and you can easily see that Jason Donnelly knows how to keep the suspense building.

Then Your Personality

I want to say that it took a while for me to like the main protagonist of this book but I cannot. Even with his flaws, Mark is an interesting character to read about from the get go. I enjoyed his narrative and feel that his personality is really the main reason that I kept reading. On the other hand, I disliked Emily from the first moment that we met her and my opinion on that did not change throughout the book – but I am definitely curious about her! Finally, the people behind the program were full of mystery and helped to bring a tonne of suspense to the book. I love how distrusting of everyone you feel by the end of the book.

Is About To

One of the main reasons I was able to easily read this book was because of the writing style. Jason Donnelly has a very natural style that easily sucks you in and keeps you hostage. It flowed off the page well and just brought Mark to life in a very realistic way that I really enjoyed. I also felt that the setting of this book helped to make it more enjoyable as it was set in today’s world but there was a twist that definitely had me intrigued. I certainly found this book to be well-written ad I can only hope this is not the only book Jason writes!

Be Made Better

Overall, this book was one that I found myself enraptured in. It leaves you with many questions and sort of throws you through a loop as well, which not many books do. I also finished the book questioning the world we live in, which is always something that I think is empowering in a book. The characters of this book feel real, the mystery keeps you on the edge, and the writing style pulls you in quickly and keeps its hold on you. This is definitely a book that I would recommend you to read, especially if you enjoy books that tell it how it is and provide you with a truly compelling story. And, to finish in the corniest way possible, this book literally gripped me from start to end.

Perfect Edge Books was founded in late 2011 to unite authors whose books weren’t “obviously” commercial. Our books tend to sit in various genres all at once: literary fiction, satire, neo-noir, sci-fi, experimental prose. We believe that literary doesn’t have to mean difficult, and that difficult doesn’t just mean pointless. We prefer to cultivate a word-of-mouth approach to marketing, and keep production as simple as we can. Learn more at www.PerfectEdgeBooks.com.
