May Monthly Wrap Up
So I ummed and ahhed about whether or not to start doing monthly wrap-ups on the blog but have eventually decided that in an effort to keep my blog more organised, to keep on top of challenges and to do a nice re-cap of the month for you all, that I would do them :-). Therefore, this post will be set out like my weekly highlights post, split into headings in an attempt to keep everything organised easily :D
Monthly Highlights
All I can think right now is… BEA! It was sooo good and amazing. Stressful, yes. Busy, yes. Crazy, yes. But above all else it was really, really fun! There were so many things we did and so many more things I still WANT to do and so I’m already trying to save to go again next year because it was just fantastic. It wasn’t so much the free books (which essentially weren’t even free since I had to pay to get to BEA and then ship the books home…) but also it was great to meet authors I love, meet publishing people and also to mix with US bloggers that I never would get a chance to meet ordinarily! It was just such a brilliant experience that I’m so glad I decided to do – and I almost decided not to!
There was also book club in May which was a really lovely evening discussing two interesting books and I just think it’s great to be in a book club! Yay!
PicnicYA also happened in May which happened to fall on a really lovely day which was really great! Thanks to Jim for organising this as it gave me a chance to meet some new people and authors and it was just a nice chance to sit in the sun and talk about books!
I also went to two launches this month. Damian Dibben’s launch of Nightship to China (Review will be up tomorrow!) which was great fun! Lovely to see Damian again and finally got a chance to meet his other half. Got to have a nice chat with Lauren again as well, and even met Justin Somper but that’s a story for a different day! The other launch was Kim Curren’s launch of Glaze which was a wonderful evening! Kim gave me a little gift for helping her with her blog tour, I met some new people and just had a great evening chatting away to people! Thank you to both Damian and Kim for inviting me along to share their celebrations!
Lastly I went to one author signing (outside of BEA that is!) this month and that was a Laini Taylor signing in Milton Keynes! I drove up with Katie from OhCakey and it was great to spend the day with her and to see Laini! It was just a good day all around!
OH. AND MY HOUSEMATE MOVED IN. YAAAY! *smiles at Debbie*
And with all of THAT going on, needless to say I didn’t post very much this month – sorry guys! But here’s some small highlights of what DID happen…
My top three posts were;
Countdown to 5th June; Nigel McDowell Interview
Blog Tour Review; Glaze by Kim Curran
Don’t Even Think About It by Sarah Mylnowski
My youtube channel has been a bit busier than usual this month with all my BEA wrap-ups and book hauls! I plan to share them all on my blog later but if you’d like to pop over and see them earlier, click here!
I read ten books this month and DNF’d one book, which I’m really happy about! It was a crazy busy month so I’m not sure HOW I managed to read so many but still glad that I did! I’m not sure I’ll get quite as many books read in June but maybe I will!
Favourite Book
I had a month of reading some good books and so it was actually hard to pick just ONE to showcase to you all but I finally picked Breakable because this book just blew me away! I loved the history of Lucas’ story, I loved the writing style (I think Tammara will forever be a favourite author of mine!) and I just found myself truly pulled into this story. It was addictive, full of suspense and just had all those, “can’t wait” moments that I rememebered from Easy. It was just the perfect companion novel and one that I was really glad to read. Keep an eye on the blog for a full review and the chance to win both Easy and Breathless!
June TBR
I’m still a little in awe that it is June already! Anywho. Here’s just a few books that I really want to read this month! Two are book club books and the others are review copies! I’ll hopefully read more than just these but these are the ones I REALLY want to read this month!
There’s also a library book from last month I want to finish and a few blog tour books to read as well but yes, these four are like MUST reads!
How was your May? Did you read anything amazing? Have you got any great books you want to read in June?

I’m glad you had a great time at BEA. This was the first year I went, too, and I loved it! I want to go next year as well. You’re right, though, the books aren’t really free!! But they are advanced readers copies, so that’s awesome!
