Top Ten Tuesday; Sequel’s I’m Dying to Read
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new topic is given and this weeks topic is one from a previous week and I chose; Sequels I’m Dying To Read
Arise by Tara Hudson; Hereafter was one of the first YA books I read since starting my book blog and I LOVED it. I devoured that book and was sooo excited for the next book in the series. Two years later and I STILL haven’t read that book. I do now own it though so maybe one day soon…
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer; I read the first book in this series in February 2012. I ached for the second book as soon as I finished the first. I waited, and I waited… and then Scarlet was released and I had pre-ordered it and then… I never read it. Gah! What is wrong with me! Cress has now been released too so I really need to get on with this, huh?
Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood; I was “lucky” enough to read the first book in this series before the rest of the UK because I ordered the HB from the US. I read it and I loved it. It was such a unique story and it really pulled me in. Now the UK version has been released, as has the second book for both countries and I have it sitting on my shelf collecting dust while I just keep not reading it.
Lady Thief by A. C. Gaughen; There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe how much I loved Scarlet. I was taken fully into that story. Fell in love with all of the characters, the world, the writing style, and simply didn’t want it to end. So I was sad when it did. Then it was told there would be a sequel! Unfortunately, this won’t be released in the UK so I’m waiting for my pay to get this one. But here’s hoping I don’t wait too long to read it!
One Seriously Messed up Week-End in the Otherwise Un-Messed-Up Life of Jack Samsonite by Tom Clempson; There have been a lot of books I’ve read that have made me laugh but none so much as the first book in this series. I was holding my sides, trying not to wet myself laughing when I read this book so I have been DYING to read the sequel to it ever since. It is the kind of book that I know will cheer me up. So now I need to set aside some time to let it do just that…
Scorch by Gina Damico; When I read Croak, I had been expecting to like it. I hadn’t expected to absolutely love it. Nor had I expected for it to hold humour and so many other emotions. It was such an amazing book. As soon as I heard about Scorch, I bought it. Now it’s just sitting on my shelf staring at me with sad bookish eyes.
Shadowplay by Laura Lam; I was SO excited for this book after reading Pantomime that I requested it for review. And I was supposed to read it before it was released. But then it was Christmas and things got in the way and it NEVER happened. Now it keeps getting pushed further down my TBR pile and it is sad because I still REALLY need to read this book.
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand; This is another book that I read the first one of right at the beginning of my blogging journey. Before Hallowed had even been released. The third didn’t even have a title. Now I’ve left it so long to read this second book in the trilogy that the whole series has finished and I missed it! Hope to catch up with the rest of the world on this series soon.
Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder; Just like with Scarlet by Marissa Meyer, I read this book in February 2012 (Same week, I was on holiday!) and I was hooked and I needed MORE and it urged me to keep an eye out on the sequel to it. I also bought other Snyder books because I loved her writing so much. (Guess who has yet to read those books…). When this book went up on Netgalley then, you can imagine how quick I was to request it. And how ashamed I know feel that it’s still on my TBR.
Frostbite by Richelle Mead; As soon as I finished Vampire Academy, I went straight online and ordered the next two books in the series because I HAD to read them. They arrived while I was in the middle of another book. And then I HAD to read a review book and then… well, Frostbite just kept getting pushed down the TBR. I really want to read at least Frostbite before the movie comes out, but hopefully more!
And those are just the top ten sequels too! There were still a fair few that didn’t make the cut! Which has made me very worried. And has made me feel fairly guilty as well. Maybe by the end of the year I’ll be less bogged down with series. Maybe.
What sequels are you DYING to read?

I know a series is one I love if I head over to Amazon and buy book two. That rarely happens with me. Funny.
Here’s my Top Ten: Childhood Favorites.

Scarlet’s sequel isn’t being published over here? How rude! And I really want to read Lunar Chronicles but haven’t even started it yet! Oops.

I am so rubbish at keeping up with series. I start so many of them and just keep putting off staying up to date with them all! I’ve only started the Hereafter series from your list, and I really need to get round to reading Arise soon as well. I feel a trip to the library is in store so I can borrow a copy.
Christa @ More Than Just Magic
I can’t wait for Lady Thief! Scarlet was just fantastic.
Becca @ Lost in thought
You must go and read Scarlet now and order Cress asap to read that too because they are amazing! Also read all of Snyder’s fantasy books because they are just soooo good! Great list :)

Great pick. Amazingly, I haven’t started any of these series yet but quite a few are ones I am dying to read. Nice list :) My TTT.

Thank you for stopping by my blog last week, and leaving such a thoughtful comment on my post about introverts vs. extroverts! I had no idea that introversion had such a complex definition, but now I’m even MORE convinced that I’m an introvert ;-P
This is such a great list of sequels to read! I just finished Scarlet and LOVED it, and have now jumped straight into Cress. I hear ya on the problem of finishing a series that I start … I’m terrible at that too!
Brittany @ This is the Story of My(Reading) Life
Oh yea. I am also in the middle of an embarrassing amount of series.
But if my vote counts, Scarlet and Scent of Magic are MUST get to as soon as possible. :)
Happy reading!
