Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine where you can spotlight a book you’re giddy with excitement to read so other people can be giddy with excitement too :)
So, normally I do this a little differently. My blog is about books and films so I figure that my Waiting on Wednesday will also involve films that I am waiting to come out. I will post the trailer and say a little about the film and that way we can all enjoy new films that are coming out! =] BUT seeing as it’s been a struggle just getting a computer, I’m just going to post a book I’m waiting for this week, sorry about that!
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself- and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
Why?: I’ve had my eye on this one for a little while now and thought that I would share it with everyone else! I love the synopsis for it and how it’s just so different to what I would normally read. I’m definitely intrigued by it! And, I mean, look at the pretty cover that goes along with it as well! =]
EDIT: I know up there at the top of my post I said I wouldn’t be posting a WoW for a film but then I saw the second trailer for the next Batman movie and simply couldn’t resist putting it onto my blog!! I cannot freaking WAIT for this movie.
Title: Batman: Dark Night Rises
Director: Christopher Nolan
What?: Adaptation of Batman comics & the third and final installment of Nolan’s adaptations.
WHY?: Are you kidding me? Nolan is a directing GOD. I absolutely LOVED the first two movies he directed for the Batman saga. I personally haven’t seen any other batman movies (I’m working on it) but I have been watching these religiously and just love them. Just LOOK at how GOOD it looks like it’s going to be! Major awesomeness happening here! :D
