Weekly Highlights; The Big Move Edition

weekly highlights

Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.

In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.

This week has been a big one for me and a really interesting way to start the new year! It was essentially a stressful move, with many coding errors and lots of fumbling around in the dark but now that I’m fully transitioned, I feel a lot better about everything and feel very pleased with my decision to move.

Post Highlights

upcoming on the blog

Bout of Books 6.0 starts tomorrow! I’m really excited for this read-a-thon as I have always enjoyed participating in it, and I hope this year is just as fun. Also, this time, I am also hosting one of the mini-challenges (on thursday!), so keep an eye out for that.

On Monday I will be posting another new feature that I hope you will all like and enjoy! It’s to do with movies, so if you’re here just for the books, you could probably skip past it.

The topic for Behind the Blog is That One Thing; With 2012 ending and the new year beginning, there has been a lot of talk about the things that have passed and the things that will soon be coming and so I would like us, instead, to talk about the constant things. The objects, people, music, etc, that are always with us no matter where we go and can often help to keep us grounded when we feel like we’re floating up to the sky. Is there an item from your childhood, or early teens, that you’ve kept with you until the present day because it meant too much to you to throw out? Do you have a friend whose been there from the beginning? What about your family? Tell us about something that is a constant in your life.
In relation to books and media; are there any heros or heroines that are constantly attached to something throughout the story, something that they draw strength from, or maybe even gives them a weakness?

I am also participating in two blog tours next week, so keep an eye out for those as well!

project 10 books

This is a project I will be taking part of during 2013. It is hosted by Belle Books and the idea is to read ten books you own before you purchase any more!
This is definitely something that I need to do more of and so I was quick to join in! This means that the “new books” part of these highlights is most likely going to be much smaller, if not non-existant for a while!

With this in mind, the only book I got this week was from the library. It is one I have seen recommended around the blogosphere and I’m looking forward to seeing what the hype is all about!

And there you have it. My Weekly Highlights!

I hope to visit all posts of this manner, so feel free to link to your own IMMs, Sunday Showcase, Sunday Posts, Letterbox Loves or whatever it is you do below!
