Weekly Highlights

Weekly Highlights; The Ill & Busy Edition

weekly highlights

Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.

In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.

Post Highlights

This week has been very busy and then I got ill and it meant that all those things I still hadn’t gotten around to doing it plagued my mind (including this post!). But, fortunately, I’m feeling better today and hoping to get done as many little tasks as I can – including the washing up! Being bed-bound for a few days is really not my idea of fun! Anyway, fortunately I did manage to get some posts scheduled before getting ill so I managed to post two things this week! *waves happy banner*

I posted ONE review;
Amy & Matthew by Cammie McGovern (FOUR HEARTS)

I also posted some thoughts about film trailers. Find out what I think about them, here. (I’m also hoping to have a thought/discussion post like this every friday so keep an eye out for that!

NaNoWriMo

Nano2014

This month I am participating in NaNoWriMo again and aim to write 50,000 words on my WIP novel. But, because I’ve announced this, I thought I would also tell you each week how I’m actually getting on with it – and hopefully this will help me from slacking behind but who knows!

So, the target for today is 26,666

My word count is currently 10,075. This means I am 16,591 words behind. There is no way I’ll catch up today but I’m hoping that I can get a lot closer to target in the next few days. Wish me luck?

If you’re doing NaNo, how are you doing?

Around the Blogosphere

This week Luna wrote a very interesting post about 3 star reviews. I completely agree with her and believe that 3 star reviews are of books I still enjoyed but just didn’t love wholly and completely but they are not, in any way, bad. Find out what she says here.

Amber asks a very intriguing question this week as well. As a blogger, do you or should you review all the books you’re sent? Read her thoughts and add your own to the discussion here.

Do you have blogging goals? Do you have a blogging plan? This week Liza looks at how she started her own blog and where she is now. Definitely a post worth checking out. You can find it by clicking here.

I’ve recently found myself enjoying audiobooks a lot more than I used to – maybe I’ll write a post on this soon! – and so I found this post by Kimberly to be a really fascinating read. Whether you read them or not, you should give it a read.

This week Michelle would like to know… who is your Hogwarts Best Friend? A great fun, little post. Read it here.

I love fantasy books, there is no question about that. And so how could I not love this post where Alexa talks about some of the wonderful magical creatures found in fantasy books. Go have a read if you love fantasy books too!

This week, over on Jim’s blog, Robin Stevens tells you all about her favourite children’s books! Go read what they all are here.

This week Daphne’s amazing blog turned THREE. Which is amazing and awesome. And you should go and celebrate with her! You can even win things. Check out this post for more info.

Letterbox Love

My memory is being a bit weird but I’m fairly certain I didn’t get any books in the post this week but I did get two from Netgalley that I cannot wait to read!

There Will Be Lies Blues for Zoey

There Will Be Lies by Nick Lake; This one sounds really intriguing and I’m looking forward to seeing what it will all be about!

Blues For Zoey by Robert Paul Weston; I’ve been wanting to read this one for ages and I finally got accepted on Netgalley! Yay! Really looking forward to seeing what happens in this book.

Currently Reading

I read a few books at a time so I have decided that I want to showcase them a little on the blog and so from now on I thought I would tell you all what I’m currently reading (on Saturday/Sunday!)

This week I am currently reading;

Us Opal Plumstead The Iron Trial The Walled City 2

And there you have it, my Weekly Highlights!
