Weekly Highlights; The Moving Home Edition!
Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.
In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.
Post Highlights
So I’ve mentioned this previously but you may not have picked up on it. I finally found a flat to move to and get out of my parents’ house. Well, this week has consisted of MOVING ALL THE THINGS into said flat and today while you read this, I should be MOVING MYSELF in. AHHH! So yes… it’s been a big week!
It also means I haven’t done much blog TLC! *insert sadface* But hope to get some done soon, otherwise I may have to extend the laid-back approach for a longer time period.
Anyway, moving on…
I posted ONE review this week;
A Room Full of Chocolate by Jane Elson (THREE HEARTS)
I also posted an exclusive excerpt of All Lined Up by Cora Carmack! Check that out here.
And as it was the end of the month, I wrapped up March in this lovely post.
Lastly, I posted the FINAL discussion post for Double Cross by Malorie Blackman. Head over here to check that out!
London Book Fair!
So this is mostly just a heads up for those of you on Twitter, I’m going to LBF next week! (Tues, Weds and Thurs) It means I may not post much as time is limited but I might have some spare time to get some posts written in long-hand at least!
I went to this last year and absolutely loved the experience and cannot wait to go again. I already have SO MANY seminars I want to go to, and I’m also going to be doing something SUPER EXCITING but I’ll explain what it is later!
Are you going to be there? Let me know below or on twitter, I’d love to meet you!
Around The Blogosphere
Have you seen the new Project that Amber at The Mile Long Bookshelf is hosting called The Blog Notes Project? I think this is such a wonderful idea and I really hope it works out perfectly. Seems like a great way to get the right boost. Find out more and sign up, here.
Have you ever wondered, what makes a book blogger?
I’m really starting to enjoy reading middle grade fiction, and I’m hoping to read lots more of it this year. This week Stacey at Pretty Books listed her top ten middle grade books that got her into want to read more middle grade books. She’s mentioned so many great books and I definitely think you should go check out this post.
Are you someone that enjoys YA horror books? This week Georgia from stopped by Project UKYA to do a guest post on her favourite UKYA horror books. Find out which ones she chose and why in this post.
I love the way that books can inspire us to reflect upon our own lives, and in this wonderful post by Jamie at The Perpetual Pageturner, that is exactly what she does. She talks about her friendships and her identity and I think it is just a great post that you should check out!
I think this is just such a lovely post and one that I truly agree with. There are times when I am feeling awful and I’ll suddenly get a comment or see a tweet, and everything will change. We love you Asti!
Letterbox Love
The Black North by Nigel McDowell; Ever since I heard about this one at the Hot Key brunch, I was dying to read it! Thank you so much to Hot Key for sending me this one for review!
The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen; This one was a surprise package but one that I’m happy about nonetheless! I still need to read The Forever of Ella and Micha but I’m super excited for this one as I loved the first book in this series! Thank you to Sphere for this one.
Lobsters by Tom Ellen and Lucy Ivison; I have been DYING to read this one ever since I heard about it so Debbie kindly leant me the copy that she borrowed from Jim. I cannot wait to dive into this one. It’s definitely going to be one of my next reads!
