Weekly Highlights; The Catch-Up Edition

weekly highlights

Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.

In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.

Post Highlights

So I’ve been a bit of a bad blogger lately and all my posting has been totally sporadic and it has been BAD and I really do apologise. I think, in a nutshell, it’s probably going to stay this way for a little while longer BUT I have things scheduled for the month of July and that should help to make things move properly again… hopefully… we’ll see! Anyway, moving on… here’s what you may have missed lately.

I have posted TWO reviews;
Absent by Kate Williams (FOUR HEARTS)
Pantomime by Laura Lam (FOUR HEARTS)

Just as I have been struggling to blog lately, I also started struggling to read and so I decided to combine the two and wrote a post on reading slumps. Check it out here

I have been to a few author events lately. One that was so fantastic I very nearly cried. To read more about them, click here.

One of the things I went to a panel about at the London Book Fair was about teen fiction needing a rating. I finally wrote a post about it here. You should definitely come by and give your opinions of the topic!

Blogger Spotlight

Gaby is my blogger spotlight this month! You can read my interview with her here. I really hope it helps to show you how wonderful and brilliant she is. Thus, it’ll make you want to follow her blog so that you get to continue to witness her brilliance from now on!

Around the Blogosphere

Sarah wrote an interesting discussion on re-reads. You should join in the conversation here.

Carrying on a series can sometimes feel a little scary. Are you a reader who takes caution when opening the second book in a series or trilogy? Find out what Liza has to say about it all here, and add your own opinions!

Most books are always set somewhere. This week Alexa, as part of the Sizzle & Swoon feature she’s co-hosting has spoken about her favourite settings – as well as all the other co-hosts. Why not see what they are by clicking here and adding your own.

One of those things that you have to decide upon early on in your blogging career is whether or not you’ll use a rating system. Gaby has put her thoughts about this down in a post. Click here to see how she feels and let her knkow your thoughts on the subject as well.

Have you ever wondered how those gorgeous books on your shelves got their covers? If you head over to Nina’s blog, she’s hosted a lovely guest post by Levi Stack here, detailing how it happened for his book.

While she hasn’t posted in a while, it is always sad to see a blogger saying goodbye. Especially one as amazingly talented as Lisa. Head over here to read her goodbye and to say your own goodbyes to such a lovely blogger.

Nice wrap up! I really like the idea of a video highlighting books you may not review, or not for a while. Its a good spotlight. You make All Our Yesterdays sound AMAZING and I can’t wait to read it :) I have yet to get on the Vampire Academy train, but feel like I need to now! Oh and I love spying whats in your bookshelf in the background :P

I’m reading All Our Yesterdays at the moment and I’m hating the fact that I’m not reading it this morning! I want to give myself a few hours to just sit and read because it is fantastic.

So glad that you finally read Vampire Academy! I was late coming to the party too but once I read that first book I stormed through the others really quickly and I really love her spin-off series about Sydney too!
