Summary:
Sasha, Jodie, Nell and Rose never expected to be famous. They didn’t want to be. In fact, they wanted to keep their band a secret because it’s what they do when they’re being stupid together – dressing up and singing cheesy songs.

But someone has stolen a video they made. It’s online, and it’s been entered into a talent competition. And what’s more … it’s got 24 votes. In only a few hours it’s got 24 votes.

The girls are about to be faced with a big decision that could make them seriously famous.

Just not necessarily the way they hoped …

If Your Dream

I have never before read a Sophia Bennett book but after many people raved about her and told me that I had to read one of her books, I finally got around to doing so. The reason I chose You Don’t Know Me is simply because it sounded like it was going to be an interesting read that I thought I would enjoy. Thus I am pleased to let you all know that I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more books by this author. I found this one to be emotional, compelling, and a really interesting read.

Comes True

You Don’t Know Me is about four girls, their friendship, bullying, media, and coming-of-age. It is a story that has a complete set of sub-plots and is able to truly make the reader feel. It is compelling, gut-wrenching, and just makes you want to be able to make everything better for everyone. It paints the world so well and really manages to make everything feel so realistic. I felt so strongly for all the characters in this story which just made me love it that much more. Add to that a plot which is full of twists, turns, and surprises but also leaves no plot holes, you’ll know why I really enjoyed this book. I do enjoy reading books like this.

What Will Be

There is a brilliant set of characters in this book that really help to make this book what it is. My favourite is Sasha, the main character. She isn’t perfect and she knows it. I love her all the same. She’s such a great friend, is really caring and I just couldn’t help but feel for her. I also loved Rose. She was a really lovely character and while there were a few things I thought were odd actions to take, I still understood her and really felt for her as well. I connected with both these characters so much and felt they both went on brilliant journeys in the book.

The True Cost?

To lay it down easy for you, I really loved this book. I was instantly pulled into the story, was filled with emotion throughout and loved all the characters. A recipe of success! This story is full of depth, holds great messages and will definitely make you think. It’s a great book about friendships (which I love!) and an interesting look at music, media, and perceptions. If you loved Drummer Girl, I guarantee you’ll love this too – and vice versa! If you’ve read neither – what are you still reading this for, go read the books!
