Seven Months Today!

Hey Guys!

So, I was trying to think of a snazzy and awesome title for this post but my brain has sort of gone into the heavens after I worked so hard on my university work today so you’re stuck with that boring title up there.

Ooops.

Oh, but at least you know what to expect from this post, right? Right?
You don’t?
Oh. Well, I guess I could tell you that today, 15th April 2012 is this blog’s

Seven Month Anniversary!!

I know, right? I am so totally overwhelmed, it is unbelievable. I cannot describe to you just how much my life has actually changed in the last seven months but I will let you in on a big, big secret; it’s changed a lot.

This blog was originally started as a book and film blog that looks mainly at adaptations and it has transformed before my very eyes. Today it is a blog that ventures mostly to all things YA with a few AF here and there and the odd film review or comment here or there too. In the next coming months, however, this is going to be changing a little bit more as well – are you as excited as I am for this? But I promise, it will still have the same stuff, it’ll just have some extra stuff thrown in as well but you can always just ignore the few posts that aren’t you’re cup of tea!

On that note, I really, really, really want to just say

THANK YOU

Honestly. You, my wonderful, amazing, beautiful, brilliant followers, are the reason I am still here. More than likely this blog would have been sitting and getting “dusty” in the blogosphere. But, because I have met so many wonderful fellow bloggers and authors and publicists, I am still here today and am always thinking about my blog, the things I need to do on it, the things I want to do in the future, things I want to change, add, etc. 75% of my time is now fully dedicated to my blog, and the other 25% of it I am constantly thinking about it anyway. I love this place, I love the blogging community and I am so totally looking forward to whatever happens in the upcoming future.

So yeah, this is a thank you post, a wow I am overwhelmed post, and a this is my new obsession post.

Before I leave, I have a question for you all.
If you’re a blogger, how long have you had your blog for? Is it what you expected it to be or something else, better/worse? What stops your blog from “collecting dust”?
If you’re NOT a blogger, would you ever consider becoming one? What do you like to see in other peoples’ blogs?

    Congrats!!! It’s exciting isn’t it?

I started blogging mid-to-late Feb 2011. I actually started the blog about a week before I actually posted.

It’s SO not what I expected. Previously I had been reviewing for a local newsletter – they’d supply me with a few books a month and I’d pick and choose what to review. That had come to an end and I was bored. Some of my friends urged me to try blogging…I fell in love! The community is so great and it’s nothing like what I had expected.

i am a blogger and have been doing it for 5 months (as of TODAY!) and i find its so much fun being able to connect with other amazing book nerds!!! i love the other bloggers i have become friends with and also authors!!! and what keeps me going is the comments i keep getting and the new followers i keep getting also. its always great that someone else likes what im doing. i might not have the most followers or the most comments but i have a few people that ALWAYS comment and thats what keeps me goin!!! and blogging is SOOOOO not what i was expecting!!!! but i love it!! every day i love it more and more!!! keep it up!!!

I couldn’t agree with you more. I mean, I love my friends IRL but not many of them actually read so trying to strike up a conversation with them about books is always fairly difficult but here, on my blog and commenting on other peoples blogs just gives me that space to do what I want with like-minded people! It definitely helps that I love what I blog about!

Keep it up yourself! Thanks for commenting! And congrats on 5 months! :D

MY DEAR! HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY! 7 MONTHS! That’s practically a baby. 2 more, and POP! *WAILS*
    Errr..

    HI!
You know, I had a blog in the past on something COMPLETELY different, and I just… never had the momentum or comittment, or anything like that to keep it going. I’d go fairly regularly (a post once a week) for a month or two, then stop, and it’d be on/off like that for ages… but this? Book blogging? I think it’s the community, combined with something I GENUINELY love. I LOVE reading, I love books, but blogging has introduced me to people I’ve come to genuinely consider FRIENDS, and my passion for it, and enjoyment, kind of feeds of that, and it’s… a circle, you know? It’s the PEOPLE who’ve kept me connected and engaged, and therefor thinking about blogging, about reading, to a place where I don’t get bored or distracted or whatnot?

My blog started off as something else, but it became about books… so I’ve been actively blogging since… just before halloween. We could call it the beginning of November… so five and a half months? It’s taken over my life :D

Seriously, I can’t WAIT to see where you blog goes, because EVERYTHING you do is GOLD. ♥ you xx

I just want to love this post because I agree so much! Before this blog, I tried so many times to do a personal blog but just as I struggle writing in a JOURNAL for MYSELF, writing for other people in the blogosphere just didn’t work for me. Now I’m blogging about something I truly LOVE and I am talking to and making new friends with people online who just enjoy the same things as I do and I love it so much!

Yay for five and a half months, so close to SIX!! :D

I am glad for this, but you should know that I love your blog ten times more than I love my own. Just remember that <3 xx

    • Sarah (saz101)

PSH, nu-uh. I love you ten times more than that :P
      (no, I love YOU more).

Eee, Faye, you are AMAZING, and… words can’t describe. So this is what I have to say instead:
      ASDHFAGHDHGADALAFKHWYGRIUBFSKLJBDKHFJKABHKFH VSJD ♥♥♥♥

(ALSO: Husbandman looked over my shoulder when I keyboard mashed last night and said, “I think you mispelled that.”)

Congrats on the 7 monthversary! I have loved your blog from when I first subscribed so I can’t wait to see what else you have in store.

My blog is almost 4 months old, and I have to say the interaction/comments with other bloggers is what keeps it from getting dusty. I love to interact with others especially about books through the blogoshere. I don’t think I really expected much to happen with m blog at all and I’ve been surprised at the responses I’ve gotten.

    • Daydreaming_Star

I think that’s the main kicker for me! I just expected my blog to fail. *shame on me* I never expected people to come by and comment and to stick around and continue to comment. It was so overwhelming when my follower count went up and then when I got regular commenters and people that I could connect with on twitter. It was/is/has been a brilliant journey and one that I am so, so, so, glad I undertook. I have so many great ideas for my blog in the coming future and I just can’t wait to share them with the world. Hehe.

Congrats on 4 months! I hope you stick with it! Your blog is so lovely and you are such an awesome person! Yaay! Keep it up :D

Faye, you have no idea how happy I am for you! Really! I’m pretty sure I saw your blog when it was just starting out, but I never thought it would become as big as it is now… and it’s just the beginning, which is so amazing. (:

To answer your question… Well, I started on February 3 or 4, so I’ve been around for a little more than two months, but I’ve enjoyed it the entire time. The book blogging community is great; I just wish I were better at keeping up with people and updating often! I’ve started out well, of course, but I’m hoping to make my blog grow and evolve, perhaps with some new features I hope to have towards the second half of the year. And besides reviews, I really love seeing discussion posts, character spotlight posts… Things like that. (:

Congratulations on your seven months here and I’m so excited for what’s to come! Love you so much!

    • Daydreaming_Star

You know that I <3 you and I love that you stuck with my little blog from the beginning and got to see it evolve! I love that you would comment on my posts and just keep an eye out on my posts, it feels me with love and I absolutely love that you made your own blog. I love, love, love your posts more than my own and love when you post new things. I hope you know that I stalk your blog an unhealthy amount :p

I am so, so, so looking forward to everything you have in store for your blog! I know that it will be awesome and that I will love it. Yes. Yes. I like spicing it up as well, not keeping it all the same but really going with what’s going on in the world as well. I feel that, as bloggers, it’s what we should be doing because we can. We’re not newspapers or magazines that are stuck within guidelines of what they can and can not post. Our blogs are OUR space and in it we put our personality and so original posts are always awesome. :D

Eeee, thanks <3 you more <3

Happy 7 months! Hope you have a great 7 more. :)
I am not a blogger. I may become one some day, however, I am not the best writer, so probably not. It seems like it could be so much fun, but a lot of work sometimes. I really like to read a variety of posts. The same thing kind of gets old. I like to every now and then hear about the blogger’s life or funny stories that have occurred to them or friends and family. I am still kind of new at this whole blog following thing, so take my answer in stride. Lol. Have a good day!
And, thank you for the giveaway!

    • Daydreaming_Star

      Thank you Tina!
I think the best thing about blogging is that you don’t really have to be a great writer. So many people embrace you, for whoever you are, that it doesn’t really matter!
And I totally agree. When I see the same type of posts everywhere it can get quite boring and mundane and blogs are individual and unique and belong to one (or a group of people) and I feel like they should all have some kind of spirit to go along with them, you know? :)
New or old, comments and answers are always helpful and awesome, so thank you! :)
No problem, and have a good day yourself!

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYEEEEEEE! SEVEN MONTHS! BLOGOSPHERE! ANNIVERSARY! THAT. IS. NUTS! I swear, didn’t you just join last week? Last month? It was NOT seven months ago!

Wow, time has flown super fast. I love that you say, “75% of my time is now fully dedicated to my blog, and the other 25% of it I am constantly thinking about it anyway” – that is exactly how I feel. Blogging has been such an amazing experience, I am so glad I found this incredible community. And I’m so glad you did too!!

I’ve been blogging… nearly 15 months now? That seems less and more believable than if I tell myself nearly a year and a half! I never expected it to be what it was. I made a lot of friends in the blogging world before I began my blog, because I was an avid follower of many and spoke on twitter, but everything got ramped up by 80% when I blogged myself and sure, at times it can be overwhelming, but I wouldn’t give it up for the tastiest vegan brownies in all the world.

Okay, maybe the second tastiest. I have a sweet tooth :P

I wish you many more blogging filled months and years, my dear!! You better stick around for a long time yet, I don’t fancy swimming to the UK to haul your ass back :P

    I LOVE YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU <3

    • Daydreaming_Star

15 months is a crazy long time! Eeeee! As the one who inspired me to make a blog myself, you have no idea how much I love you. Hehe. Of course, I loved you before blogging (kinda, just slightly … :p) but after blogging? Ah yes. This is the one who commented on practically EVERY post I made at the beginning and made me feel like I wanted to post more and more and more :D You helped me get to where I am today, how does that make you feel? xD

I’m so glad that you’re enjoying your time blogging as well though! Your blog is so good and is always full of awesome things! I love it!! Hehe. I am so glad for you, did you know that yet? Have I made it clear yet? hehe.

      I LOVE YOU MOOOREEEEEE! <3
