Weekly Highlights; The Bout of Books Edition
Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.
In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.
This week has been one filled with a fair amount of reading because I was participating in the Bout of Books read-a-thon! Yet I still managed to post all my regular things and even got a few reviews up on the blog too which made me very happy! Not quite on top of scheduling yet but maybe next week!
Post Highlights
I posted four different reviews this week. Here’s the seperate links to them;
Torn Together by Emlyn Chand – FOUR HEARTS
Veiled Mist by Eleanor T. Beaty – THREE HEARTS
A Bite’s Tale by Veronica Blade – FOUR HEARTS
Easy by Tammara Webber – FIVE HEARTS
For Top Ten Tuesday I posted ten Bookish Goals for 2013; here
Thursday’s Special Spotlight this week was The Truth About Forever and to see why I love this book so much, click here
Finally, I spoke lovingly about my childhood teddy bear, as well as some childhood stories in Behind the Blog this week, which you can read about here
Giveaways
After reading, and absolutely adoring Easy by Tammara Webber, I decided to share the love around and offer a copy of this book to one of YOU. Click here for your chance to win!
Bloomsbury UK have been kind enough to offer me a copy of Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black to give away to one of you as well! To find out how you can win this, and to see the book trailer, click here!
Around the Blogosphere
My first bit of news is that my friend Laura has started her own blog! She’s been reviewing on Goodreads for a while now but with some enthusiastic encouragment, finally jumped on the blog-owning wagon. To follow her (because she deserves to be followed!), click here
From What I Remember has been touring blogs, but I particularly liked their post on Overflowing Library as they described “ten” things that help them procastinate. Check the post out here
What have you noticed happening around the blogosphere this week?
Letterbox Love
Letterbox Love is a meme hosted by Narratively Speaking where UK-based bloggers can highlight the books they’ve recieved each week. And here is what I got;
Dancing to the Flute by Manisha Jolie Amin – This was from Alma Books and I’m looking forward to reading it!
In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters – Sent from Abrahms and Chronicle, super excited to get to this one!
Swordspell by C. J. Busby, Deceit by Deborah White, Ishmael and the Hoops of Steel by Michael Grant Bauer – These were all sent from Templar Publishing and were a complete surprise! I’m curious about them all, but will have to do some other reading first as they’re not the first in the series!
Black City by Elizabeth Richards – Possibly my favourite book this week! This was from Laura (mentioned above), and was just a small thank you for all my help. It is a SIGNED copy and it came with two signed bookmarks as well. I did a little dance when I opened the packet and am truly grateful! <3
And there you have it, my Weekly Highlights!
I hope to visit all posts of this manner, so feel free to link to your own IMMs, Sunday Showcase, Sunday Posts, Letterbox Loves or whatever it is you do below!
