Weekly Highlights; The MiraINK Party Edition
Weekly Highlights is a new feature here at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts and will be a post highlighting things that happened on and off the blog. It is inspired by The Story Sirens In My Mailbox, Books, Biscuit and Tea’s Showcase Sunday, Kimba Caffeinated’s Sunday Post, and the British Letterbox Love.
In the feature I won’t mention everything I received, nor every post I wrote during the week but will simply feature a selection of things I wish to spotlight a second time around.
Post Highlights
This week has been a really hectic one for me offline and so I didn’t really post many things unfortunately, but here’s just a few highlights of the things I did post!
I wrote TWO reviews;
Safe Haven (2013) (FOUR HEARTS)
Walk Away With Me by Darby Davenport (FOUR HEARTS)
Some marketing tools for books really work, but some just seem to flop. Personally I find the “next big thing” campaigns to be irritating. So this week, I wrote a post on my full thoughts about this. Why not go here to find them out and tell me what YOU think.
Upcoming
This week I plan to have a write-up of the Random House Blogger Event that I went to this month – along with some really great photos!
I’ll also have two or three reviews going up – depending on how productive I am.
There’ll also be a lovely guest post from my blogger spotlight!
And it’s upcoming to the end of the month so there’ll be a monthly wrap-up on the horizon and some Genre Variety Challenge news! So keep your eyes peeled this week.
Letterbox Love
This week I went to two bookish events! One was a Lauren Oliver signing which was really great! Lauren was so freindly and chatty and kept wanting more questions. The event went on for a long time as we were the back of the queue and Lauren was being nice enough to talk to everyone and to take photos which is really great!
Then on thursday I went to the MiraINK blogger party which was really great and I got some good books for review and a few that I’ll be giving away here on the blog! (yay!) So just keep your eyes peeled for those. And here’s just a picture of some books I got this week, it’s not everything because some things I didn’t feel like sharing, and some are at work! lol.
The Hunt by Andrew Fukada; Bought this one when I saw it was on a bargain price! I’ve heard great things about it and look forward to reading it!
Ink by Amanda Sun; Recieved for Review. You have NO IDEA how excited I am for this book! I love the idea of getting multi-cuturalism into YA titles and I am game for anything Japanese or Chinese and it just sounds INCREDIBLE!
The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa; Recieved for Review. But I’ve already reviewed it here! So I may be having this in a giveaway, keep your eyes peeled :D
Dare You To by Katie McGarry; Recieved for Review. I haven’t yet read Pushing the Limits so I’m not overly excited about this – and feel bad for getting it when others actually ARE but I will take this as a sign to go ahead and read the first book! This one is signed to me specifically so I’d feel bad giving it away.
Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louisa Rozett; Recieved for Review. I’ve heard interesting things about this one so I’m curious to find out what I think!
Love Is A Thief by Claire Garber; Recieved for Review. This one definitely sounds intriguing. Not my normal read really but may just give it a go and see what I think!
Speechless by Hannah Harrington; OH MY GOD. I was in HEAVEN when I saw this book. Because not only is it one of the BEST books in the world but Hannah Harrington has quickly become one of my favourite authors EVER and…. it was SIGNED!
Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa; Recieved for Review. I am currently reading this, about 80 pages to go and I am LOVING it. I am really hooked and reading rapidly because it is so damn amazing and I am in awe of Julie’s writing.
The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorenson; Recieved for Review from Little Brown Books. I have already started this one and am incredibly hooked already. It’s been a battle between reading this and Eternity Cure at the moment and it’s been a HARD decision. Looking forward to seeing where this one goes!
I hope to visit all posts of this manner, so feel free to link to your own IMMs, Sunday Showcase, Sunday Posts, Letterbox Loves or whatever it is you do below!
